- Title: Data Center Manager- Structured cabling
- Location – Across USA ( Hybrid)
- Contract
- We need people who has experience in Cabling (Structured cabling )
- Job Title: Hyperscale Structured Cabling Design
- Role Summary
- We are seeking a highly skilled Structured Cabling Design – DC manager to architect and oversee the physical layer infrastructure for our large-scale global delivery operations. In this role, you will design robust, scalable, and high-density fiber and copper network pathways that form the backbone of modern hyperscale data centers.
- You will work closely with cross-functional facility and network engineering teams to ensure that all cabling designs integrate seamlessly with complex mechanical systems, operating continuously without spatial or thermal conflicts.
- Key Responsibilities
- Design & Engineering
- Architect end-to-end structured cabling systems (Single-mode/Multimode fiber, MPO/MTP high-density trunks, and Cat6/Cat6A copper) tailored specifically for hyperscale and colocation environments.
- Develop comprehensive construction documents, including floor plans, rack elevations, pathway layouts, and detailed splicing diagrams using AutoCAD, Revit, or Bluebeam.
- Calculate fill ratios, weight loads, and bend radii for overhead and under-floor cable tray systems.
- Cross-Functional Integration
- Coordinate directly with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) teams to ensure cable routing does not interfere with advanced thermal management systems, including data center liquid cooling infrastructure and temporary fabric containment structures.
- Partner with network architects to align physical layer designs with logical network topologies and future capacity scaling requirements.
- Documentation & Quality Assurance
- Generate highly accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), Scopes of Work (SOWs), and project estimates for procurement and deployment teams.
- Review and approve contractor submittals, RFIs, and red-lined as-built drawings to ensure field execution matches the original design intent.
- Ensure all designs strictly adhere to industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, IEEE, NEC, and NFPA) as well as proprietary hyperscaler deployment standards.
- Required Qualifications
- Experience & Education
- Active BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification is strictly required.
- 5+ years of dedicated experience in structured cabling design, with a minimum of 2 years focused specifically on hyperscale, enterprise data center, or telecom environments.
- Proven track record of managing physical layer design for large-scale global delivery projects.
- Technical Competencies
- Advanced proficiency in drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit) and estimating/markup tools (Bluebeam Revu).
- Deep understanding of optical loss budgets, fiber characterization, and high-density interconnect architectures (e.g., spine-and-leaf).
- Strong working knowledge of data center mechanical environments, hot/cold aisle containment, and how physical cabling impacts HVAC airflow efficiency.
- Preferred Attributes
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent design phases across different geographic regions.
- Prior experience working directly as a vendor or partner for major hyperscalers (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Google, Meta).
- Additional certifications such as BICSI DCDC (Data Center Design Consultant) or CDCP (Certified Data Centre Professional).
