Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of data center projects from early planning and pre-construction through commissioning and operational handover.
Manage permitting activities and oversee technical assessments, including environmental, geotechnical, utility, water, noise, and connectivity studies.
Coordinate utility engagement and ensure timely delivery of permanent power infrastructure.
Lead and align engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to achieve project milestones.
Oversee the performance of General Contractors (GCs), trade contractors, consultants, and key project stakeholders.
Monitor project schedules, identify potential delays, and implement recovery strategies where required.
Manage project budgets, evaluate change requests, control costs, and develop operational financial forecasts.
Establish operational readiness by implementing the required teams, processes, systems, and compliance framework.
Develop service delivery and client engagement processes to support long-term facility operations.
Assist with technical and operational due diligence for acquisitions, developments, or investment activities.
Chair project meetings and maintain clear communication across internal teams, contractors, and external partners.
Build and maintain strong relationships with utility providers, local authorities, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
Promote a culture of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Proactively identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and drive issues through to resolution.
Prepare and present project status reports, financial updates, and key milestones to executive leadership.
Required Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience delivering mission-critical data center construction projects, with AI or HPC facility experience considered highly desirable.
Proven track record of successfully completing at least one full data center project from site mobilization through commissioning and handover.
Strong understanding of U.S. construction practices, delivery methodologies, and project execution.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
