About The Role
The Inventory Analyst at Rural King plays a vital role in maintaining and optimizing inventory accuracy across all store locations, distribution centers, and online platforms. This position involves collaborating with various departments such as Accounts Payable (AP), Purchasing, IT, and Distribution Center (DC) Operations to ensure inventory integrity and resolve discrepancies. The Inventory Analyst is responsible for uploading physical inventory counts, analyzing inventory data, and generating reports that inform strategic decisions and operational improvements. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate will be proactive in researching inventory variances, supporting store teams with inventory-related inquiries, and assisting in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs). Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of three years of experience in data analysis or a related field, demonstrating proficiency in analyzing large datasets and generating actionable insights. Candidates should be comfortable navigating various computer systems and software applications to support inventory and operational activities.

Physical requirements include the ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods, lift up to 15 pounds periodically, and access all facilities comfortably. Close vision capabilities are necessary for computer-related activities, and effective verbal communication skills are essential for daily interactions.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do
- Analyze inventory data to report findings from store, distribution center, and online inventories on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Research missed receiving entries for Accounts Payable (AP) and Distribution Logistics & Procurement System (DLPS).
- Support DLPS in investigating and analyzing inventory variances to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist store teams with questions related to receiving processes and inventory management to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Create detailed reports and conduct analysis to support inventory research and manage the 1301 account effectively.
- Help identify and resolve duplicate payments into the shrink account, minimizing losses and discrepancies.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for receiving, purchasing, and inventory processes to standardize practices across the organization.
- Collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals committed to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Act as a trusted internal partner across departments, fostering teamwork and supporting initiatives that drive positive business outcomes.
- Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decision-making, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Participate actively in training programs, workshops, and webinars to stay current with industry best practices and enhance skills.
- Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal teams and external partners, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
