About The Role

The Data Analyst - Product & Marketing role is a vital part of The League’s analytics team, reporting directly to the Head of Data Science. This position involves performing in-depth data analysis to understand and optimize critical aspects of the company’s marketing funnel, including acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining core metrics that serve as benchmarks for team performance and strategic objectives. By leveraging data insights, the analyst will help foster a data-driven culture within the organization, supporting strategic decision-making processes across product, marketing, and engineering teams. The role offers a unique opportunity to influence product development and marketing strategies through rigorous analysis, experimentation, and visualization, ultimately contributing to the company's growth and user experience enhancement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Economics, or a related field
  • Proficiency in SQL with a strong understanding of statistical analysis, experiment design, and common data pitfalls
  • Expertise in at least one programming language used for statistical analysis such as Python or R
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of synthesizing complex data insights into clear visualizations and narratives
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to make data-informed decisions and prioritize effectively
  • Experience leading initiatives across multiple product areas and collaborating with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Own the creation and maintenance of key company metrics to monitor overall OKR performance
  • Lead quarterly analysis projects focused on revenue growth and user acquisition
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses based on requests from cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives
  • Manage and update operational dashboards in Periscope, tracking performance across departments and key metrics
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to design data products and execute A/B testing experiments
  • Translate business questions and hypotheses into structured data analyses and visualizations
  • Communicate insights and findings effectively to stakeholders in marketing, product, engineering, and data teams
  • Apply statistical, modeling, and machine learning techniques to optimize the matching algorithm and improve relevance
  • Support the development of a data-driven decision-making culture within the organization
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to focus on high-impact analyses that matter most to business objectives
