About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Analyst to join MANTECH's dynamic team in Springfield, VA. This full-time onsite position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of data-driven decision-making within a defense and intelligence environment. The Data Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the maintenance and enhancement of data holdings, ensuring compliance with data standards, and performing sophisticated quantitative analyses. The successful candidate will transform raw data into actionable insights, develop compelling visualizations, and contribute to the strategic improvement of Machine Learning models. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, technical proficiency, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to meet mission objectives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience, with a Bachelor's degree accounting for three years of experience and a Master's degree providing an additional two years. Candidates should have proven expertise in preparing and analyzing large, complex geospatial datasets, utilizing statistical methods and data analysis tools. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and familiarity with GIS and Tableau are essential. The ability to develop visualizations that clearly communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences is highly valued. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph, reflecting the sensitive nature of the work.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to optimize workflows, automate routine processes, and develop efficient methods that increase preprocessing productivity and data management effectiveness.
  • Lead and execute projects employing advanced mathematical, statistical, and scientific techniques to analyze complex missions and operational problems, deriving insights from diverse data sources.
  • Support data analytics efforts by performing data cleaning, transformation, and workflow improvements, particularly focusing on Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes.
  • Apply statistical and analytical methods to answer intelligence questions, support mission requirements, and conduct in-depth data analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Create lightweight analytic tools and visualizations to monitor data metrics, assess progress, and ensure alignment with government goals.
  • Design and implement mechanisms to track, report, and monitor data pipelines, ensuring timely data movement and process integrity.
  • Develop automated checks and validation systems to maintain continuous pipeline support and data integrity.
  • Ingest and rectify non-standard or new data formats within the Data Management Platform (DMP) to facilitate seamless integration and curation.
  • Generate and maintain comprehensive data dictionaries, ensuring documentation remains current as data structures evolve.
  • Provide expert guidance on imagery curation techniques, evaluating their effectiveness in identifying valuable images containing specific objects or characteristics.
