About the Role:
- We are actively seeking a Traveling Mechanical Project Manager with extensive experience in the MEP trades, specifically within HVAC and mechanical systems, to oversee large-scale commercial ground-up projects across the country. This is a field-forward leadership position with full responsibility for mechanical scope execution on fast-paced, technically complex jobs.
- The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable in mechanical systems and coordination, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is fully committed to full-time travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full mechanical scope on large commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Oversee subcontractor performance, mechanical installation quality, and schedule adherence
- Coordinate mechanical/HVAC activities with the GC, other trades, and design teams
- Review submittals, RFIs, and mechanical plans for accuracy and constructability
- Lead onsite mechanical coordination meetings and ensure seamless integration with plumbing, electrical, and structural systems
- Monitor and report on budget, labor, productivity, and cost control measures
- Ensure all work meets project specifications, safety standards, and client expectations
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of project management experience within the mechanical/HVAC trades (open to multiple levels of experience)
- Proven experience leading mechanical scopes on large-scale, ground-up commercial construction projects
- Deep understanding of HVAC systems, ductwork, chilled water, hot water, and controls
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of industry standards and codes
- Proficiency in construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness and availability to travel 100% of the time
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive base salary up to $145,000 (dependent on experience)
- Robust travel compensation package (per diem, flights, housing, rental car, etc.) – separate from base salary - up to $5,000/mo stipened
