  • Business Development Director | Data Center Power & OEM
  • Location: United States (Remote) | Eastern U.S. preferred
  • Compensation: $150K–$200K base salary + performance-based incentive compensation

Our client is an established and growing manufacturer of highly engineered components and manufacturing solutions serving major OEM customers. As the organization expands its presence within the rapidly growing data center and power management markets, they are seeking a Business Development Director to develop new OEM opportunities and build long-term strategic customer partnerships.

This is a high-impact individual contributor opportunity for an experienced business development professional who understands complex OEM sales, knows how to navigate large technical organizations, and can turn market intelligence and relationships into meaningful revenue opportunities.

The successful candidate will bring strong commercial instincts, technical credibility, and the ability to engage engineering, procurement, operations, and executive stakeholders. Direct busway experience is valuable but not required; relevant experience across data center power, power management, thermal management, electrical infrastructure, or other adjacent engineered-product markets will be considered.

  • What You'll Do
  • Develop new business opportunities with leading OEMs across the data center and broader power management ecosystem.
  • Build relationships with engineering, procurement, operations, and executive stakeholders within complex OEM organizations.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities where engineered components and manufacturing capabilities can solve customer supply chain, scalability, performance, and capacity challenges.
  • Lead opportunities from initial engagement through commercial development, close, and long-term account growth.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer applications, technical requirements, product roadmaps, and supply chain needs.
  • Partner closely with internal engineering, manufacturing, program management, and business development resources to develop compelling customer solutions.
  • Leverage market intelligence, technology, and modern business development tools to identify and prioritize high-value opportunities.
  • Support customer presentations, technical discussions, proposals, negotiations, and strategic account development.
  • Build lasting OEM partnerships within long-cycle, high-value engineered manufacturing programs.
  • Help expand the company's position within data center infrastructure while identifying additional opportunities across the broader power management market.
  • What We're Looking For
  • Significant business development, technical sales, or strategic account experience within an OEM-driven technical B2B environment.
  • Proven success developing new business with large, sophisticated OEM customers.
  • Strong understanding of complex, relationship-driven sales cycles involving engineering, procurement, operations, and executive decision-makers.
  • Established industry relationships and the ability to navigate large customer organizations to identify and develop new opportunities.
  • Commercial experience within data center infrastructure, power management, electrical infrastructure, thermal management, busway/busbar, or a closely related engineered-product environment.
  • Ability to understand technical applications and translate manufacturing and engineering capabilities into compelling customer value.
  • Demonstrated hunter mentality with the patience and discipline to develop opportunities that may involve extended qualification and sales cycles.
  • Strong executive presence, communication skills, business judgment, and relationship-building ability.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote business development environment while collaborating closely with manufacturing and technical teams.
  • Willingness to travel for strategic customer meetings and visits to company manufacturing facilities.
  • Preferred Industry Background Experience in one or more of the following areas is particularly relevant:
  • Data Center Power Infrastructure
  • Power Management
  • Busway / Busbar Systems
  • Thermal Management
  • Electrical Distribution
  • Switchgear / Power Distribution Equipment
  • Engineered Electrical Components
  • High-Power Interconnect / Connectivity
  • Engineered Components sold to major OEMs
  • Other mission-critical technical manufacturing environments
  • Why This Opportunity Stands Out
  • $150,000–$200,000 base salary plus performance-based incentive compensation.
  • Direct involvement in one of the fastest-growing areas of infrastructure investment: data center and mission-critical power.
  • Opportunity to develop significant, long-term OEM partnerships rather than transactional sales.
  • High-visibility role with meaningful influence over market development and commercial growth.
  • Strong internal support, including dedicated business development and program management resources.
  • Access to modern AI-enabled business development tools designed to accelerate market mapping and opportunity identification.
  • Opportunity to join an organization investing in expanded manufacturing capabilities and continued growth.
  • Remote structure with significant autonomy and direct customer engagement.
