About The Role
The Business Systems Analyst at GDIT will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions, ensuring that project outcomes support mission-critical objectives. This role involves partnering with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate complex requirements into clear, actionable plans that drive process improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiencies. The analyst will support cross-functional teams by facilitating Agile methodologies, managing project documentation, and ensuring the successful execution of testing and system validation activities. With a focus on Warehouse Management and Inventory Management systems, the successful candidate will utilize their technical expertise and problem-solving skills to optimize business systems, support decision-making, and deliver measurable impact aligned with organizational goals. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university (or equivalent work experience with an additional four years of relevant experience)
- 6+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in IT environments
- Strong experience supporting business functions related to Warehouse Management and Inventory Management systems
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and management tools such as VersionOne
- Familiarity with incident and change management tools like ServiceNow
- Proficiency in writing test plans and scripts, executing test plans, and coordinating testing efforts
- Strong SQL skills for data validation, testing, and defect analysis
- Experience with Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports
- Understanding of message flows, schemas, and data movement using Apache Kafka
- Experience validating API behavior, request/response structures, and integration rules
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce documentation and reports
- Knowledge of SDLC/TSLC practices and project life cycle management
- Team leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Working knowledge of DevSecOps, Agile Scrum, and Agile project management software such as VersionOne
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance (including fingerprinting and background checks)
- U.S. residency for the past five years, with specific requirements regarding travel outside the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements and objectives
- Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable technical solutions
- Support process improvement initiatives and system optimization efforts
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and scripts for multiple interrelated objects within dynamic testing environments
- Coordinate testing activities across medium to large teams, ensuring proper segregation of results and data management
- Validate system functionalities, data integrity, and API behaviors to ensure compliance with specifications
- Utilize tools such as Office Suite, Visio, Oracle Reports, and SQL for documentation, reporting, and analysis
- Assist in incident and change management processes, ensuring timely resolution and communication
- Support project lifecycle activities, including planning, execution, and closure, in accordance with SDLC/TSLC standards
- Engage with cross-functional teams and senior management to communicate project status, issues, and solutions effectively
- Lead or supervise testing efforts, providing guidance and mentorship to team members
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvements
- Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and organizational requirements
