About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Appian Business Analyst to join our growing team. In this role, you will serve as a vital bridge between our Appian product teams, clients, and stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to partner with product teams and engage with customers to gather, analyze, and define requirements specific to Appian applications. You will support the development lifecycle by conducting requirement discovery, process modeling, and data analysis to ensure the delivery of effective, user-centric solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on federal projects that have a meaningful impact on government operations, leveraging your analytical expertise and collaborative skills to shape innovative Appian-based solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis and requirements refinement for information systems
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, across all organizational levels
  • Experience working with process-based documentation methods such as use cases, Agile user stories, and process modeling
  • Ability to manage multiple products and prioritize effectively
  • Experience with common project management tools such as TFS, Jira, and Github
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required federal government security clearance (US citizenship required)
  • Remote work capability with availability to work east coast hours as needed

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Development Managers to define the minimum viable product (MVP) and support release planning
  • Conduct requirement discovery workshops with customer stakeholders to gather and document solution requirements
  • Perform data modeling, process reengineering, and BPM application design to optimize workflows
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Systems Architects, to define new and enhanced product features
  • Support prioritization of feature enablers within the product roadmap
  • Develop and maintain user engagement analytics to understand user demographics, needs, and requirements
  • Write detailed user stories with acceptance criteria to guide development and quality assurance teams
  • Continuously provide feedback, answers, and guidance to development teams on work items and enablers
  • Work with teams to define sprint plans aligned with the product vision and roadmap
  • Refine product requirements based on user feedback, demos, and sprint reviews
  • Prepare effort estimates for user stories within the product backlog
  • Conduct formal reviews and acceptance testing of implemented user stories
  • Identify, track, and escalate project risks as necessary
  • Recommend process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency
  • Design and develop complex data models tailored to customer application needs
  • Utilize project management tools such as TFS, Jira, and Github to manage tasks and workflows
