About The Role
The Senior Business Systems Analyst at Sentara is a fully remote position responsible for supporting, enhancing, and implementing software applications across the organization. This role involves overseeing and directing medium-scale projects or significant components of large projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals. The analyst will develop detailed project plans, coordinate resources, and work closely with stakeholders, including end-users, IT teams, and software vendors, to optimize technology solutions. A key aspect of this role is identifying opportunities for leveraging technology to improve business practices by designing and implementing application enhancements. The incumbent will assess, research, analyze, and document stakeholder needs, translating them into technical requirements. They will develop comprehensive test cases, execute testing, and collaborate with developers to deliver solutions within scope, budget, and timeline. Additionally, the role requires performing long-term system analysis, hardware planning, and synthesizing requirements to recommend solutions that meet business objectives. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will work on complex information systems projects, ensuring seamless integration and functionality, ultimately supporting Sentara’s commitment to high-quality healthcare delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, Finance, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- Alternatively, candidates with 6+ years of relevant experience without a bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in business systems analysis
- Advanced SQL experience
- Experience working with EDI-834 files
- Proficiency in SQL, HTML, and CSS (preferred)
- Experience with QNXT and/or Facets (a plus)
- Member enrollment experience (a plus)
- Experience with Clarity, ID card configuration, and member eligibility processes (a plus)
- Knowledge of Medicaid, commercial health plans, and marketplace coverage (a plus)
Responsibilities
- Support, enhance, and implement software applications used within the organization
- Oversee and direct medium-scale projects or components of large projects, including developing project plans and timelines
- Coordinate project resources and communicate with stakeholders to ensure project success
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve business practices and operational efficiency
- Design and implement application or product enhancements based on stakeholder needs
- Act as liaison between end-users, IT teams, and software vendors to align technology solutions with operational processes
- Assess, research, analyze, and document stakeholder requirements using appropriate elicitation techniques
- Develop detailed test cases, execute testing, and communicate results for approval
- Collaborate with developers to estimate costs and timelines for fixes and enhancements
- Perform long-term analysis and system design to support production environments
- Synthesize requirements and develop recommendations that align with business objectives
- Participate in complex information systems projects, ensuring integration and functionality
