  • Job Title: Technical Business Analyst
  • Location: Edmonton, AB – Remote
  • Employment Type: Contract – 12 Months, with possible 6-month extension
  • Contract Hours: 1,805.25 hours / 36.25 hours per week
  • About the Role
  • We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to coordinate IT implementation projects involving infrastructure, technology services, facility moves, and organizational reorganizations. The successful candidate will work across multiple IT teams and business stakeholders to coordinate delivery, define requirements, manage project documentation, and ensure projects meet scope, schedule, quality, and operational expectations.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the implementation and execution of multiple IT projects from planning through completion.
  • Coordinate technology services and infrastructure requirements for new facilities, office relocations, and staff moves.
  • Support projects involving organizational reorganizations, including department changes and movement of programs, services, and personnel.
  • Coordinate IT changes involving Active Directory, security groups, shared mailboxes, network drives, business applications, and telecommunications.
  • Lead stakeholder consultations and facilitate project meetings.
  • Define and document business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Develop project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs, dashboards, and project closure documentation.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including End User Computing, Cloud, Servers, Storage, Network, Security, Cybersecurity, and other IT services.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while tracking scope, deliverables, schedules, risks, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Provide regular project status reporting and maintain project documentation in SharePoint.
  • Apply project management methodologies and governance practices to support effective project delivery.
  • Support change management and communication activities throughout project implementation.
  • Provide technical recommendations and guidance to project teams, management, and operational teams.
  • Collaborate on proof-of-concept and limited production rollouts and provide quality control for production implementations.
  • Review new technology and service requests, assess operational impacts, and recommend appropriate remediation.
  • Use AI tools responsibly to enhance productivity while maintaining appropriate human oversight, security, and privacy.
  • Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
  • Meet one of the following education/experience combinations:
  • University degree in Business, Management, or related discipline + 4+ years Project Coordinator experience; OR
  • 2-year diploma + 6+ years Project Coordinator experience; OR
  • 1-year certificate + 7+ years Project Coordinator experience; OR
  • 12+ years Project Coordinator experience.
  • 12 years of experience coordinating technical teams across multiple IT implementation and execution projects in environments of comparable size and complexity.
  • 10+ years defining project scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • 12+ years developing project deliverables such as charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs, project closures, and dashboards.
  • 12+ years managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • 10+ years coordinating IT infrastructure projects supporting Government of Alberta environments.
  • 11+ years coordinating organizational reorganization projects involving department changes or movement of people, programs, or services.
  • 12+ years developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships, including at the executive level.
  • 12+ years leading and facilitating stakeholder meetings at all organizational levels.
  • 12+ years leading change management and communication planning.
  • Preferred Skills
  • Experience coordinating projects involving Active Directory, network infrastructure, cloud, servers, storage, security, or telecommunications.
  • Experience with facility moves, technology refreshes, new office/building implementations, or decommissioning projects.
  • Experience working across multi-disciplinary IT teams.
  • Experience with SharePoint-based project documentation and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of IT project governance, change management, and operational processes.
  • Experience supporting proof-of-concept and limited production deployments.
