Business Analyst

• Senior Business Analyst | Mortgage & Financial Services
• We’re looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join a leading financial services organization for a full-time, on-site opportunity in McLean, VA, with potential for contract-to-hire. This role is ideal for an experienced Business Analyst with a mortgage industry background, prior team lead experience, and strong knowledge of third-party risk management, information security, operational risk, and end-to-end SDLC processes.

What You’ll Do:

• Partner with business and technical teams to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical requirements
• Lead requirements gathering, process mapping, data flow design, and technical specification development
• Define project objectives and conduct feasibility and impact analysis
• Support the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from requirements through implementation
• Develop and document UAT strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts
• Support development, systems integration testing, UAT, and defect resolution
• Perform financial statement analysis and support risk-related business processes
• Review and evaluate third-party, information security, and operational risks
• Work with SOC reviews, including SOC 1 Type 2, controls, and control enhancements
• Use advanced Excel formulas and automation to improve analysis and streamline processes
• Apply knowledge of manual and automation testing to ensure solutions meet business requirements

What You Bring:

• Prior experience as a Business Analyst within the mortgage industry
• Previous team lead or leadership experience
• Strong expertise in third-party risk management, information security, and operational risk
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and spreadsheet automation
• Strong understanding of financial statement analysis
• Knowledge of SOC reviews, SOC 1 Type 2, controls, and control enhancements
• Strong understanding of SDLC, requirements gathering, process/data flows, SIT, and UAT
• Ability to effectively bridge the gap between business and technical teams
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
• IT audit experience is a plus

• 💵Pay Range: $63 - $65/hr
