About The Role
Sentara Health is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our dynamic team. This fully remote position offers an exciting opportunity to support, enhance, and implement software applications critical to our organizational operations. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will oversee intermediate-scale projects or components of larger initiatives, developing detailed project plans and coordinating resources to ensure successful delivery. The role involves working closely with stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to align technology solutions with business needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for technological improvements that enhance operational efficiency and patient care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, Finance, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Candidates without a degree but with six or more years of relevant experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of four years of relevant experience in business analysis or related roles.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL is required, with experience in writing complex queries and data analysis.
- Experience working with EDI-834 files is mandatory, demonstrating familiarity with electronic data interchange processes.
- Knowledge of healthcare systems such as QNXT and Facets is advantageous.
- Experience with member enrollment processes, Clarity ID card configuration, and member eligibility is a plus.
- Familiarity with Medicaid, commercial health plans, and marketplace coverage enhances candidate suitability.
- Proficiency in HTML and CSS is preferred, supporting the development of user interfaces and application enhancements.
Responsibilities
The Senior Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for supporting and improving healthcare software applications and systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing stakeholder needs through research, analysis, and documentation to elicit clear and actionable requirements.
- Designing and developing application or product enhancements that leverage emerging technologies to improve business practices.
- Collaborating with end-users, IT teams, and vendors to ensure technology solutions align with operational processes and strategic goals.
- Developing detailed test cases, executing testing, and sharing results with business and technical managers for approval and implementation.
- Working jointly with developers to estimate costs and timelines for fixes, features, and system improvements.
- Performing long-term analysis and system design to maintain and optimize production environments.
- Synthesizing complex requirements into practical recommendations that meet business objectives.
- Participating in project teams developing or modifying complex information systems, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
- Maintaining documentation, providing user support, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards and policies.
