Role Overview
The Senior Business Analyst (Custom Applications) is responsible for partnering with business stakeholders to define, analyze, and deliver business and functional requirements that drive the development and enhancement of custom-built applications.
This role acts as a strategic bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring solutions align with business objectives and deliver measurable value across the application lifecycle.
The position requires strong expertise in requirements engineering, stakeholder management, and end-to-end Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) engagement.

Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements & Solution Definition
Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document requirements for custom applications.
Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and process flows.
Develop As-Is and To-Be models, identifying opportunities for process optimization and automation.
Ensure traceability of requirements across the SDLC.

2. Stakeholder Management & Communication
Act as the primary liaison between business users, product owners, and development teams.
Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions to drive clarity and consensus.
Communicate complex concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

3. Delivery & SDLC Participation
Support end-to-end delivery, including design, development, testing, and deployment phases.
Work closely with QA teams to define and validate test cases aligned with business requirements.
Ensure alignment with SDLC best practices and governance standards.

4. Analysis & Continuous Improvement
Analyze current systems and processes to recommend enhancements and efficiencies.
Identify gaps, risks, and dependencies early in the lifecycle.
Drive data-driven decision-making through business insights and impact assessments.

Key Skills & Competencies
Functional & Technical Skills
Strong experience in custom application development environments (web, mobile, enterprise apps)
Expertise in requirements modeling techniques (UML, BPMN, user stories, functional specs)
Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery models
Familiarity with integration concepts, APIs, and data flows (preferred)
Working knowledge of tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Visio, Confluence

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field
5–10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT delivery environments
Proven experience working on custom application development projects
Experience in client-facing roles with global delivery teams
