Business Analyst BI - Remote

About the Role

Kforce is seeking a BI Business Analyst for a client in Carlsbad, California. This is a fully remote position focused on business intelligence, data analysis, and dashboard development. The analyst will work directly with executives, operations, marketing, product, and other business teams to understand their reporting needs and turn business questions into useful metrics, dashboards, and actionable insights.

The role requires strong SQL skills, experience with business intelligence platforms, and the ability to manage analytics requests from initial requirements gathering through final delivery. You will also partner with the Director of Analytics to improve the organization's BI environment and help business stakeholders make informed decisions using reliable data.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with executives, operations, marketing, product, and other business teams to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
• Translate business requirements into meaningful KPIs, metrics, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
• Manage analytics requests from the initial business question through dashboard development and delivery.
• Use SQL to explore, analyze, validate, and understand underlying data.
• Design and develop interactive dashboards that provide actionable insights for business users and leadership.
• Build self-service analytics and reporting tools that help stakeholders monitor performance and answer business questions independently.
• Analyze operational, engagement, product, and overall business performance trends.
• Clarify ambiguous requests by asking relevant questions and identifying appropriate data sources and metrics.
• Work with the Director of Analytics to develop and improve the organization's business intelligence and dashboard environment.
• Troubleshoot reporting issues, investigate data-quality problems, and validate metric accuracy.
• Collaborate with technical teams on data requirements and potentially contribute to data modeling and data engineering requirements over time.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, BI Analytics, or a related analytics role.
• Strong hands-on SQL skills.
• Experience developing dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Sigma, Qlik, ThoughtSpot, Omni, or a comparable BI platform.
• Demonstrated ability to gather business requirements and translate business questions into analytics or dashboard solutions.
• Experience creating reports and dashboards for business users, leadership teams, or executive audiences.
• Ability to identify appropriate KPIs and metrics based on business needs.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work directly with senior executives and operational stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently within a small team and take ownership of projects from start to finish.
• Curiosity, adaptability, and comfort working in an organization where responsibilities may evolve as the business grows.

Salary and Benefits

The compensation range is determined based on what Kforce reasonably believes it may pay for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation may be higher or lower depending on relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract, and business needs. The range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees working on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Pay is not considered compensation until it has been earned, vested, and determined. Compensation amounts and availability remain at Kforce's discretion unless and until paid, subject to applicable law. This position is not eligible for bonuses, incentives, or commissions.
