About The Role
The Benefits Administrator at Butterball plays a critical role in supporting the administration and optimization of employee health and wellness programs, leveraging Human Capital Management (HCM) and Benefits Administration platforms such as UKG Pro and PlanSource. This position involves managing day-to-day benefits operations, ensuring data integrity, and facilitating seamless benefits delivery. The administrator collaborates closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and IRS regulations, while also providing exceptional service to employees. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills to interpret data, troubleshoot system issues, and support continuous process improvements.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, along with at least three years of relevant experience in benefits administration or a related field. Knowledge of health and welfare benefits programs, regulatory requirements, and experience working with HCM and benefits technology systems is essential. Professional certifications such as CEBS, PHR, or SPHR are preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and the ability to analyze data to provide actionable insights. A solid understanding of compliance regulations, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing business needs are crucial for success in this role.
Responsibilities
The Benefits Administrator will be responsible for a broad range of duties including:
- Managing the daily administration of health, dental, vision, retirement, and supplementary benefits programs.
- Serving as the primary contact for benefits inquiries, resolving issues by liaising with vendors, HR, and employees.
- Supporting the annual open enrollment process through communication, training facilitation, and system updates.
- Developing and maintaining benefit documentation such as plan summaries, policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Maintaining benefits information on intranet sites, mobile applications, and benefits management systems.
- Providing exceptional customer service by responding promptly to employee inquiries and providing accurate information.
- Assisting in benefits training sessions, new hire orientations, and other educational initiatives.
- Supporting and maintaining the HCM and benefits technology platforms by completing system updates, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring data accuracy.
- Monitoring carrier interfaces, processing benefit data, and resolving enrollment errors to ensure seamless data flow and regulatory compliance.
- Partnering with payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions and processing adjustments as needed.
- Collecting, analyzing, and reporting benefits data to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring ongoing compliance with ACA regulations, including eligibility testing, form filings, and government reporting.
