About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Engineer to take ownership of our streaming infrastructure and products. This pivotal role involves defining the technical vision, making architectural decisions, and solving complex challenges associated with our most critical and rapidly expanding product offerings. The successful candidate will not only lead development efforts but also influence the direction of our streaming systems, ensuring they meet the high standards of performance, reliability, and scalability required by our users. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and founders to shape the future of our streaming capabilities, including filtered streams, webhooks, and innovative features that enable developers to build more powerful applications on Solana. This role offers an exciting opportunity to impact the entire ecosystem by building resilient, high-throughput systems that serve thousands of clients worldwide.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience with a proven track record in building large-scale, production systems
- Deep proficiency in Rust or an equivalent systems programming language
- Strong performance-oriented engineering instincts, with knowledge spanning software, Linux internals, networking, and hardware
- Hands-on experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka, NATS, Flink, or Kinesis
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining production databases like Postgres, ClickHouse, RocksDB, or similar
- Operational experience owning and maintaining reliable production systems with real customers
- Excellent communication and writing skills, capable of driving technical consensus across teams
- High ownership mentality, with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments
Responsibilities
- Architect and lead the development of high-throughput, low-latency streaming systems that underpin core products
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for streaming features, including filtered streams, webhooks, and new developer capabilities
- Lead system design discussions and make architectural decisions across the full technology stack—software, hardware, and networking
- Establish standards for operational excellence, focusing on system reliability, incident response, and observability
- Mentor and develop engineering team members, fostering technical growth and collaboration
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Support, and infrastructure teams to ensure product scalability and customer satisfaction
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues that span multiple systems and layers
- Stay ahead of industry trends and incorporate best practices into system design and development
