What a Successful Analytics Engineer Does

  • Designs the merchant data foundation and model while it's still taking shape, builds analytics from scratch, and owns things end-to-end on a small, high-impact team
  • Goes deep into datasets, shapes infrastructure, and sees your work drive the business directly in a fast-moving environment
  • Operates across the full spectrum of data engineering (~10%), analytics engineering (~80%), and business intelligence (~10%), and serves as a core technical point of contact for business stakeholders
  • Handles regular and evolving ad hoc requests - often from senior management with imperfect data
  • Turns high level requirements and business needs into reliable pipelines that make analytics frictionless for downstream users
  • Does dimensional/semantic data modeling, performance tuning, and creates clean, consumable datasets
  • Designs, builds, and operates analytics pipelines with testing and monitoring built in
  • Builds analytics from the ground up while the underlying data model is still being defined, and helps define it
  • Discovers, evaluates, and onboards new datasets; manages connectors and ingestion methods
  • Integrates source systems into our central Snowflake platform and troubleshoots failures, latency, and data quality issues
  • Handles unpredictable, deep ad hoc requests in a high paced environment with imperfect data

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business analytics, engineering, or a related field
  • 4+ years designing data models and pipelines, and handling ad hoc analytics requests
  • Advanced SQL and Python
  • Strong Snowflake experience (ingestion, transformations, access patterns, governance basics) and can operate independently
  • Proven ability to break ambiguous problems into structured, solvable components
  • Strong analytical and systems-design skills
  • High-ownership, proactive, and able to run multiple workstreams and follow through without constant direction
  • Someone who digs into the why behind a request - a real problem-solver who delivers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification
  • Familiarity with geospatial data
  • CI/CD pipeline development experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced, technical, and contribution-oriented environment

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation and drug test as part of the selection process.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have authorization to work in the country without the need for sponsorship.
