About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join our Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) team. As a vital member of our Applied AI team, you will lead and execute critical technical projects focused on developing and deploying advanced AI technologies. Your expertise will contribute to creating sophisticated signal processing solutions that provide our customers with discriminating capabilities in complex operational environments. This role involves engaging in all phases of system development, from requirements gathering to testing and deployment, ensuring that innovative AI solutions meet stringent performance and security standards. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to proposals and whitepapers to secure funding for future AI research initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related disciplines
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
- Experience with AI frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, or JAX
- Strong background in signal processing theory and applications (radar, communication, electronic warfare, sonar, audio, biomedical)
- Knowledge of current AI paradigms including computer vision, deep learning, and reinforcement learning
- Experience applying AI/ML to signal-processing applications
- Active U.S. DoD security clearance (Secret level)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic and time management skills
Responsibilities
- Develop and apply AI paradigms such as computer vision, deep learning, and reinforcement learning to solve complex signal processing challenges
- Engage in all system development lifecycle phases including requirements generation, design, implementation, integration, and testing
- Lead technical teams by taking ownership of critical tasks and ensuring high-quality deliverables
- Participate in proposal development, whitepapers, and funding acquisition efforts for AI R&D projects
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop and deploy AI solutions effectively
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for AI adoption across various programs and initiatives within Lockheed Martin
- Maintain awareness of emerging AI technologies and integrate them into ongoing projects
- Support the development of software architectures and contribute to continuous improvement processes
