The Waterloo Bucks are looking for a qualified individual to assist our coaching staff and players with analytics. In this internship you will dive into analytics, clubhouse operations, press box operations and hospitality operations.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Assist coaching staff and players to access, analyze, and present data
- Coordinate all data collection efforts, including logistics related to Trackman
In-Game Duties Position:
- Official Scorer for assigned home games
- Scoreboard Operator for assigned home games
- Trackman operator for assigned home games
- Music operator for assigned home games
- Camera operator for assigned home games
- Pitch Clock Operator for assigned home games
- Tickets, Souvies, Guest Services, etc. for assigned home games
Clubhouse Operations:
- Manage all team equipment including laundry duties for home and visiting team
- Prepare home and visitor clubhouse, coaches offices, and umpire locker room to ensure they are presentable before teams arrive to the ballpark
- Set up team meals in both home and visitor clubhouse
- Ensure that all team uniforms are tracked and in players individual lockers prior to them arriving at the ballpark
- On non-game days, interns will play an integral role in the overall operation of the Bucks organization.
- Tasks and responsibilities could include marketing events, player appearances, hospitality management, ballpark/stadium operations, Ticket office non-gameday rotation, etc.
- Assist with setup, cleanup, and maintenance of hospitality / area for all events held at the stadium
- Other Duties as assigned
Skills and characteristics that we are looking for:
- Willingness to work long hours, weekends, holidays, etc. and be on your feet for an extended time
- Must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Microsoft Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) experience
- Extensive knowledge of the game of baseball
- Open to learning new things and have the flexibility to work in multiple departments
- Positive attitude, great communication skills and the ability to problem solve
- Organized and detail oriented
- Must be able to lift up to 30lbs
- On time and ready to work each day with a hardworking and positive attitude
- Proper and professional communication with fans, sponsors, team, staff, etc. when representing the Bucks
- Excellent verbal and hand-written communication skills
- Outgoing and excited to work in the sports career field
