- Position Summary
- The Workday Financials Analyst serves as a functional and technical subject matter expert for Workday Financials, partnering with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, IT, and other stakeholders to optimize system configuration, improve business processes, support reporting and integrations, and ensure strong data governance and operational support.
- The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on experience with Workday Financials, strong knowledge of financial business processes, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, sustainable Workday solutions. This role will support ongoing enhancements, production operations, reporting, integrations, releases, and continuous process improvement across the Workday Financials environment.
- Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Workday Financials partner and subject matter expert across Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Expenses, Projects, Banking and Settlement, Supplier Accounts, Financial Reporting, and related functional areas.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and translate business needs into scalable Workday configuration, reporting, integration, and process solutions.
- Configure, test, validate, and deploy Workday business processes, security roles, approval workflows, notifications, condition rules, calculated fields, validations, and financial master data.
- Design, build, and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, calculated fields, matrix and composite reports, and analytics to support financial operations, audits, forecasting, and leadership decision-making.
- Support integrations and data loads, including EIBs, RaaS reports, APIs, middleware handoffs, and recurring interface monitoring.
- Troubleshoot integration errors, data discrepancies, and system issues, performing root-cause analysis and implementing or coordinating appropriate resolutions.
- Support Workday releases, enhancements, module implementations, regression testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment planning, change management, and post-production support.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 production support, resolve incidents, manage escalations, and coordinate with vendors or internal technical teams as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and standardization that strengthen financial controls, data integrity, user experience, and operational efficiency.Create and maintain system documentation, training materials, test scripts, configuration records, support procedures, and knowledge articles.
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Internal Audit, Procurement, HRIS, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure Workday Financials aligns with business priorities, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and enterprise architecture.
- Monitor Workday product releases and evaluate new functionality for applicability, business value, and opportunities to improve existing processes.
- Participate in projects and initiatives involving Workday Financials, including implementations, enhancements, integrations, and process transformation.
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of Workday experience, including significant hands-on experience supporting Workday Financials in a post-production and/or implementation environment.
- Demonstrated experience configuring and supporting Workday Financials modules, including Core Financials, Expenses, Procurement, Projects, Supplier Accounts, Banking and Settlement, Business Assets, Financial Accounting, and Financial Reporting.
- Experience supporting the full enhancement lifecycle, including intake, requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.
- Strong experience with Workday reporting tools, calculated fields, dashboards, EIBs, and integration support.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, audit requirements, and data governance practices.
- Experience with Workday release management, regression testing, UAT, and change-control practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root-cause analysis and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across Finance, Accounting, IT, and other business functions.
