- Role Description
- The VP of Regulatory Compliance / Policy Oversight Lead / Regulatory Intelligence Analyst provides strategic leadership for regulatory compliance, policy governance, and regulatory intelligence. This role ensures that the organisation understands, anticipates, and responds effectively to applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and supervisory expectations across its products, operations, markets, and business activities.
- The position works closely with Legal, Risk, Audit, Finance, Operations, Product, Technology, Data, Government Affairs, and senior business leaders. Responsibilities include developing compliance frameworks, monitoring regulatory developments, interpreting policy impacts, advising on regulatory obligations, coordinating regulatory-change programmes, maintaining policies and controls, and supporting communications with regulators and oversight bodies.
- At senior level, the role establishes compliance governance, risk-assessment processes, reporting standards, and assurance mechanisms. It translates regulatory intelligence into practical business requirements, leads remediation of compliance gaps, prepares executive and board updates, and strengthens a culture of accountability, ethical conduct, transparency, and proactive risk management.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, Economics, Public Policy, Risk Management, Compliance, Political Science, or a related field.
- Master’s degree, legal qualification, MBA, or recognised compliance certification is an advantage.
- Significant experience in regulatory compliance, policy oversight, regulatory affairs, legal advisory, enterprise risk, audit, or a related field.
- Proven experience developing and implementing regulatory-compliance frameworks, policies, controls, monitoring plans, and governance processes.
- Strong ability to interpret laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, supervisory publications, and industry standards, then translate them into operational requirements.
- Experience monitoring regulatory developments, maintaining regulatory inventories, conducting impact assessments, and managing regulatory-change programmes.
- Strong understanding of compliance risk assessments, control testing, issue management, remediation tracking, and management reporting.
- Experience advising senior leaders on regulatory obligations, policy risks, product or market changes, and emerging compliance matters.
- Ability to develop, review, and maintain policies, procedures, compliance documentation, training materials, and regulatory reports.
- Experience working with regulators, supervisory authorities, external counsel, industry bodies, auditors, and internal control functions.
- Knowledge of financial services, healthcare, technology, data privacy, consumer protection, environmental regulation, or another relevant regulated sector is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of governance, ethics, data privacy, conduct risk, record retention, and internal-control principles.
- Ability to analyse complex information, identify regulatory trends, assess business impact, and provide clear recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder-management, influencing, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- High standards of integrity, professional judgement, discretion, attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential and high-stakes matters.
