- About the Opportunity
- Our client is a well-capitalized developer and owner of large-scale energy infrastructure assets seeking a Vice President of Power Origination to lead commercial strategy and customer engagement efforts. This individual will play a critical role in securing power offtake agreements and developing long-term commercial partnerships that support a growing portfolio of generation and energy infrastructure projects.
- The ideal candidate will bring a strong network across utilities, load-serving entities, large commercial and industrial customers, energy marketers, and emerging high-load sectors, along with a proven track record of negotiating complex energy transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead power marketing and origination activities across a portfolio of utility-scale energy and infrastructure projects.
- Source, develop, and negotiate long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs), structured energy transactions, and other commercial arrangements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with utilities, corporate energy buyers, energy marketers, data center developers, and other strategic counterparties.
- Identify market opportunities and develop commercial strategies that maximize project value and revenue certainty.
- Collaborate closely with development, finance, regulatory, and executive leadership teams to advance projects through commercialization.
- Monitor power market fundamentals, customer procurement trends, and regulatory developments across key U.S. markets.
- Support bid strategy, RFP responses, pricing analysis, and contract negotiations.
- Evaluate merchant, contracted, and hybrid revenue structures for new development opportunities.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, customer meetings, and market-facing events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in power origination, energy marketing, commercial development, power trading, or related fields.
- Demonstrated success originating and closing energy transactions in North American power markets.
- Strong understanding of power market structures, wholesale electricity markets, renewable energy products, and energy procurement strategies.
- Experience negotiating PPAs, structured energy products, capacity agreements, or related commercial contracts.
- Existing relationships across utilities, corporate buyers, energy marketers, data center customers, and other major energy consumers are highly valued.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and contract negotiation experience.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial growth environment.

Compensation
A highly competitive compensation package, including base salary, annual incentive opportunity, and long-term equity participation, will be offered based on experience.
