- The Company is now building a next-generation AI infrastructure platform focused on developing, owning, and operating high-performance data center campuses. As part of this initiative, we are assembling an experienced team to identify, develop, and scale mission-critical digital infrastructure.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced data center infrastructure professional to lead the technical evaluation, development, and execution of new AI data center projects.
Working closely with the land acquisition team and the founding team, you will evaluate prospective sites to determine their technical suitability for AI data center development. Together, you will assess opportunities based on power availability, fiber connectivity, water, natural gas, site configuration, scalability, permitting considerations, and overall development feasibility to identify the strongest opportunities for the Company's long-term infrastructure strategy.
As the Company's technical leader for data center infrastructure and power, you will manage external Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) partners, general contractors, engineering consultants, and key infrastructure vendors. You will oversee project planning, budgeting, project financial performance, engineering, construction, commissioning, and technical delivery, advancing projects from site acquisition through customer deployment.
Infrastructure Evaluation & Site Development
- Partner with the land acquisition team to evaluate prospective development sites.
- Determine whether prospective sites can support the Company's targeted AI data center deployments.
- Evaluate available utility infrastructure, including electrical power, fiber connectivity, water, wastewater, and natural gas.
- Assess site configuration, acreage requirements, expansion potential, environmental considerations, and development constraints.
- Provide technical recommendations regarding prospective site acquisitions and overall development strategy.
- Utility & Infrastructure Planning
- Serve as the Company's technical lead for utility infrastructure planning.
- Work alongside the land acquisition team during discussions with utilities, power providers, landowners, and infrastructure stakeholders.
- Evaluate electrical capacity, interconnection pathways, substation availability, transmission infrastructure, and anticipated delivery timelines.
- Validate infrastructure assumptions throughout the site selection and acquisition process.
- Develop utility strategies that align with customer requirements and long-term campus expansion.
- Engineering & Project Delivery
- Lead the technical planning, engineering, and development of approved data center sites.
- Manage external Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) partners, general contractors, engineering consultants, and key project vendors.
- Lead contractor selection, procurement strategy, contract negotiations, and project delivery across all phases of development.
- Coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and telecommunications engineering activities.
- Review engineering deliverables to ensure they meet customer, operational, and infrastructure requirements.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, project financial performance, technical milestones, and overall project execution.
- Oversee commissioning activities and ensure facilities are delivered to customer specifications and operational readiness.
- Ensure all critical infrastructure systems are designed, constructed, commissioned, and deployed to support reliable, scalable AI data center operations.
- Customer & Technical Support
- Partner with customers throughout the development lifecycle to ensure infrastructure and facility designs align with technical, operational, and deployment requirements.
- Translate customer requirements into site infrastructure and engineering specifications.
- Support campus planning, capacity planning, and phased expansion strategies.
- Evaluate new technologies, infrastructure partners, and deployment methodologies to support future growth.
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as the Company's internal subject matter expert for data center infrastructure and power.
- Lead the technical execution of the Company's data center development initiatives.
- Build, mentor, and lead internal and external technical teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Build and maintain relationships across the data center, utility, engineering, construction, and infrastructure ecosystem.
Who You Are
- Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in data center development, infrastructure, mission-critical facilities, or large-scale energy infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of utility infrastructure, electrical power systems, transmission planning, and grid interconnection.
- Experience working directly with electric utilities, transmission providers, and infrastructure stakeholders.
- Experience developing hyperscale, enterprise, or colocation data centers.
- Experience managing Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) project delivery.
- Experience managing engineering consultants, general contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience managing project budgets, financial performance, and large-scale capital projects.
- Strong understanding of site development, permitting, infrastructure planning, and project execution.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where execution, ownership, and accountability are paramount.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business decisions.
