Overview

  • We are seeking an experienced VP of Data Center Delivery to lead the end-to-end execution of a large-scale, multi-year high-performance computing and mission-critical data center development program.
  • Based in Dallas in a hybrid capacity, this senior leadership role will own delivery across multiple buildings, phases, and major workstreams representing several hundred million dollars in capital investment. The VP will translate executive strategy into structured execution plans, establish strong program governance, and lead a team of Project Managers responsible for delivering individual phases, buildings, and critical workstreams.
  • The successful candidate will bring a combination of technical data center expertise, large-scale capital program leadership, team management, vendor governance, and executive communication. This individual must be equally comfortable reviewing critical-path schedule risks, resolving complex delivery dependencies, leading vendor accountability discussions, and presenting program status to executive and board-level stakeholders.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Program Leadership & Delivery
  • Own end-to-end delivery of a large-scale data center and HPC infrastructure program from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and operational ramp-up.
  • Maintain accountability for overall program cost, schedule, quality, capacity, and delivery performance.
  • Translate executive priorities into clear program plans, milestones, workstreams, and accountability structures.
  • Establish and enforce program management standards, including RAID management, dependency tracking, change control, stage-gate reviews, and executive reporting.
  • Identify critical-path risks, technical dependencies, and delivery constraints across multiple concurrent phases.
  • Escalate major risks early and drive cross-functional root-cause resolution.
  • Team Leadership
  • Build, lead, and develop a team of senior Project and Program Managers.
  • Assign ownership across buildings, phases, and major infrastructure workstreams.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold leaders accountable for cost, schedule, quality, and risk management.
  • Coach the team on program management rigor, technical delivery, vendor management, and executive communication.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and career development as the delivery organization scales.
  • Cross-Functional & Technical Coordination
  • Coordinate across engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, procurement, supply chain, finance, and commercial teams.
  • Partner with engineering and finance on capacity planning and forecasting to align data center delivery with business requirements and customer commitments.
  • Coordinate major infrastructure dependencies involving power, cooling, networking, compute, construction, and commissioning.
  • Work with utility providers, permitting authorities, municipalities, and other external stakeholders when required to maintain development schedules.
  • Coordinate across multiple infrastructure programs on shared resources, hardware availability, skilled labor, vendor capacity, and other portfolio-wide constraints.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management
  • Provide executive-level oversight of site vendors, general contractors, subcontractors, specialty trades, infrastructure partners, and service providers.
  • Hold external partners accountable for contractual delivery, schedule, quality, safety, and performance requirements.
  • Partner with centralized procurement and executive leadership on major infrastructure, hardware, and construction agreements.
  • Ensure program requirements, timelines, and capacity needs are appropriately represented in enterprise-level vendor negotiations.
  • Governance & Executive Reporting
  • Develop executive dashboards and KPI reporting covering schedule, budget, capacity, risk, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Provide clear visibility into program health, upcoming milestones, critical dependencies, and areas requiring executive decisions.
  • Prepare and present data center delivery updates to senior executives, board members, and investors as required.
  • Maintain continuity and institutional knowledge throughout the multi-year development lifecycle.
  • Partner with Strategy, Operations, Finance, and other corporate functions to incorporate program data into enterprise planning and executive reporting.
  • Lead post-project reviews and continuous improvement efforts to strengthen program delivery methodology and organizational maturity.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in data center delivery, technical program management, construction, engineering, or large-scale capital programs.
  • Demonstrated ownership of complex, multi-year, multi-phase infrastructure programs with significant capital investment.
  • Direct experience delivering hyperscale data centers, HPC environments, GPU infrastructure, mission-critical facilities, or comparable large-scale technical environments.
  • Experience leading and developing teams of Project Managers, Program Managers, or infrastructure delivery leaders.
  • Strong command of critical-path scheduling, dependency management, risk management, resource planning, capacity planning, change control, and stage-gate governance.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent construction and infrastructure workstreams.
  • Experience managing general contractors, subcontractors, hardware providers, colocation partners, and other infrastructure vendors.
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness with experience managing large capital budgets and forecasting program expenditures.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex program status, risks, and decisions to C-suite and board-level audiences.
  • Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels, from executive planning through detailed delivery reviews.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP, PgMP, or comparable program management certification.
  • Experience directly managing data center or infrastructure programs exceeding $250M in capital investment.
  • Experience with utility coordination, electrical capacity development, permitting, and municipal stakeholders.
  • Strong familiarity with data center power, cooling, electrical, mechanical, controls, networking, and commissioning programs.
  • Experience supporting high-density GPU or HPC compute environments.
  • Experience working within a rapidly scaling or high-growth infrastructure organization.
  • Experience building program management teams, governance standards, and reporting frameworks from the ground up.
  • Ideal Background
  • Strong candidates may come from hyperscale data center developers and operators, HPC infrastructure organizations, cloud providers, large-scale colocation environments, or other mission-critical infrastructure organizations where complex construction, commissioning, technical delivery, and capital program leadership are core responsibilities.
