Role Description The Vice President of Business Analytics will lead data-driven decision-making across Enigma Ventures and its portfolio companies in a full-time, remote capacity. This role oversees the design and implementation of analytics frameworks to evaluate investment opportunities, monitor portfolio performance, and support strategic initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering and analyzing financial and operational data, building dashboards and reports, developing forecasting and scenario models, and translating insights into clear recommendations for partners and founders. The Vice President will collaborate with investment, finance, and operations teams, mentor junior analysts, and establish best practices for data governance, measurement, and analytics tools across the firm.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills and experience applying structured problem-solving to complex business questions.
Proficiency in data analytics and analytics platforms (e.g., Excel, BI tools, SQL or similar), with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
Solid grounding in statistics, including hypothesis testing, regression, and experimental design for business applications.
Finance expertise, including financial modeling, valuation, scenario analysis, and performance tracking for early-stage companies.
Experience in investment, consulting, or high-growth startups, preferably working with or within venture-backed companies.
Ability to communicate complex data findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including mentoring analytics professionals and driving cross-functional initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, or related field; advanced degree (MBA or relevant master’s) is a plus.
Comfort working in a remote, distributed environment and collaborating across time zones.
