Utility Business Analyst

Trident Consulting is seeking a "Utility Business Analyst” for one of our client in "Rosemead, CA” A global leader in business and technology services.

• Pay Rate: $38.30/hr on W2
• Duration: 12+ Months Contract
• Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST

• Job Overview
• We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support digital product delivery initiatives for a leading utility client. In this role, you will collaborate with Product Managers, business stakeholders, UX designers, and development teams to transform business needs into detailed requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that drive successful Agile software delivery.
• The ideal candidate has experience working in Agile environments, managing product backlogs, supporting UAT, and delivering customer-facing digital products.

• Key Responsibilities
• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
• Translate business needs into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Work closely with Product Managers to prioritize and refine product backlogs.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, UX, and business stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
• Facilitate backlog grooming and sprint planning activities.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect tracking, and business validation.
• Create business process documentation, workflows, and functional specifications.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and process improvement opportunities.
• Ensure solutions align with business objectives and customer needs.

• Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of Business Analyst experience supporting software, digital, or technology initiatives.
• Strong experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
• Hands-on experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience managing and refining product backlogs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience creating process flows, workflow diagrams, journey maps, or wireframes.
• Familiarity with UX design principles and customer experience best practices.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale digital transformation projects.
• Prior experience in the Utilities, Energy, Customer Service, Billing, Payments, or Digital Customer Experience domain is highly preferred.
