Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst to partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to define, document, and support business and system solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong requirements gathering, process analysis, and stakeholder management skills, with experience in utility or power systems environments preferred. Candidates with solid business analysis experience and a Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA) will also be strongly considered.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with business users, subject matter experts, and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and meetings to clarify business needs, priorities, and expected outcomes.
Analyze current-state business processes and identify opportunities for improvement, standardization, automation, and operational efficiency.
Create clear and comprehensive documentation, including business requirements documents, user stories, process flows, use cases, gap analyses, and test scenarios.
Support solution design by translating business needs into actionable requirements for development, implementation, and support teams.
Assist with system testing, user acceptance testing, defect triage, and validation of delivered solutions against requirements.
Track requirements through the project lifecycle and manage changes to scope, priorities, and stakeholder expectations.
Collaborate with project managers, developers, QA analysts, and operational teams to support successful project delivery.
For utility or power systems environments, support analysis related to operational workflows, outage management, grid operations, asset management, system integrations, or related business processes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or in a similar role supporting business and technology initiatives.
Experience Eliciting, Documenting, And Managing Requirements Across Cross-functional Teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills.
Experience with process mapping, gap analysis, and solution validation.
Proficiency with common business analysis tools and documentation methods, including requirements management, workflow diagrams, and user stories.
Power systems, utility industry, or related operational domain experience is preferred; however, candidates with a current CCBA certification and strong business analysis fundamentals may be considered in lieu of direct industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in electric utility, transmission, distribution, outage management, energy management, asset management, or related power systems environments.
Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA) from the IIBA, or progress toward certification.
Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
Experience supporting enterprise systems, operational systems, data integration, reporting, or workflow optimization initiatives.
Knowledge of testing practices, change management, and production support processes.
