We are currently seeking a detail oriented healthcare data professional for a Trauma Analyst position with a prominent medical organization located in the Town and Country area of Missouri.
The primary focus of this role is the management and maintenance of the Trauma Registry. You will be responsible for identifying patients who meet specific criteria, abstracting data from various medical sources, and ensuring all records comply with national data standards. This position is vital for tracking and analyzing clinical information for burn and trauma cases using specialized software systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze data for the trauma registry according to National Data Dictionary standards.
- Identify eligible patient cases from multiple internal data sources.
- Utilize electronic medical records to extract clinical details and injury specifications.
- Ensure high levels of accuracy in data entry and database management.
- Collaborate with a mission driven team to support hospital service standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to complete American Trauma Society registrar training and AAAM injury scale coding certification within three years of hire.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Previous experience in patient registry data abstraction.
- Prior exposure to EPIC or similar electronic health record platforms.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology.
- Knowledge of ICD 10 CM, CPT coding, and injury severity scoring systems like AIS or ISS.
- Associate degree in Health Information Technology or a related field.
- RHIT, CSTR, or CAISS certifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database report writing.
