  • Position Overview
  • A highly regarded Family Office is seeking a Trading Analyst to join its investment team in Houston. This individual will play a key role in supporting the execution, monitoring, and analysis of public market investments across equities, fixed income, ETFs, mutual funds, and alternative investment strategies.
  • The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of experience within an investment management firm, hedge fund, family office, private bank, or institutional asset manager, with direct exposure to trade execution, portfolio operations, market analysis, and investment reporting. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior investment professionals and gain broad exposure across a sophisticated multi-asset investment platform.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and monitor trades across public market investment strategies, including equities, fixed income, ETFs, mutual funds, and alternative investments.
  • Coordinate with custodians, brokers, and external investment managers to ensure timely and accurate settlement of transactions.
  • Maintain portfolio records, trading activity logs, and investment documentation.
  • Assist with portfolio rebalancing activities and implementation of investment decisions.
  • Monitor market activity, economic developments, and portfolio performance.
  • Prepare investment reports, performance summaries, and portfolio analytics for internal stakeholders.
  • Reconcile positions, cash balances, and investment transactions across custodial platforms.
  • Support due diligence efforts on external managers, investment opportunities, and market strategies.
  • Assist with risk monitoring and portfolio exposure analysis.
  • Work closely with senior investment professionals on special projects and investment initiatives.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience within asset management, investment management, family office, hedge fund, private wealth, or institutional investing environments.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, investment products, and trading processes.
  • Experience with portfolio management systems, custodial platforms, and investment reporting tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar Direct, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced investment environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Progress toward or completion of the CFA designation is highly desirable.
  • Preferred Background
  • Experience supporting public market investment portfolios.
  • Exposure to trade execution and portfolio operations.
  • Understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation, and performance measurement.
  • Familiarity with investment manager due diligence and reporting processes.
  • Experience working within a family office, endowment, foundation, OCIO, hedge fund, or institutional investment environment is a plus.
