Technical Project Manager / Product Owner – Data & Analytics
Location: New Jersey (Hybrid – 2–3 Days/Week Onsite)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager / Product Owner to lead enterprise Data & Analytics initiatives focused on Data Engineering, Data Platform modernization, Data Migration, and Analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams while driving delivery of scalable data solutions using Databricks, AWS, and modern BI platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Product Leadership
Partner with business and product stakeholders to define data and analytics initiatives.
Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Own project planning, execution, delivery, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
Drive enterprise Data Engineering, Data Migration, and Data Platform modernization programs.
Technical Leadership
Review solution architectures and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
Support development teams in delivering scalable and efficient data solutions.
Lead end-to-end project delivery and serve as the primary technical point of contact.
Perform impact assessments and evaluate existing data landscapes and architectures.
Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with business users, product teams, architects, and engineering teams.
Communicate effectively with executive leadership and client stakeholders.
Drive account growth through strong client relationships and consultative engagement.
Data & Analytics Delivery
Lead implementation of Data Engineering and Analytics solutions.
Optimize data workflows, pipelines, and reporting processes.
Support analytics initiatives using Tableau, Power BI, and other BI tools.
Ensure data quality, performance optimization, and scalability of solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
10–14 years of experience in Data & Analytics, Data Engineering, or Data Platform initiatives.
Strong Technical Project Management and/or Product Ownership experience.
Expertise in:
SQL
Data Engineering
Data Analytics
Data Migration
Data Foundation/Data Platform Buildout
Hands-on understanding of:
Databricks
AWS (S3, Lambda, related services)
PySpark
Experience with BI tools:
Tableau
Power BI
Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
Ability to convert business requirements into technical requirements.
Experience leading cross-functional and distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks, LLMs, and Data Science concepts.
Media industry experience.
Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling.
Experience with MicroStrategy or additional BI platforms.
Relevant cloud, analytics, or project management certifications.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Technical Product Owner or TPM with a strong Data & Analytics background.
Proven success delivering enterprise-scale data modernization initiatives.
Strong balance of business acumen, technical depth, and stakeholder management.
Experience working in consulting or client-facing environments preferred.
