Overview

• Our client is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support a large-scale Student Health Insurance platform initiative. This role requires a strong blend of business analysis, data analysis, and technical skills, with a particular focus on complex integrations, data validation, reconciliation, and billing/accounting processes.
• The ideal candidate will have experience supporting healthcare, insurance, benefits administration, or student health insurance platforms and be comfortable partnering with both technical teams and business stakeholders to drive requirements, system enhancements, and data-focused initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, document, and refine business and system requirements with stakeholders across technology, operations, finance, and accounting teams.
• Translate business processes and financial requirements into user stories, process flows, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, and data mapping documentation.
• Support platform enhancements, data migrations, school onboarding/migration efforts, billing process improvements, and system integrations.
• Perform data analysis, reconciliation, validation, and troubleshooting across multiple applications and data sources.
• Analyze enrollment, eligibility, carrier, billing, and financial data to identify discrepancies and process improvement opportunities.
• Facilitate requirements workshops, backlog grooming sessions, system demonstrations, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and validate proposed solutions.
• Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst supporting software development projects.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience performing data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with data mapping, transformation logic, and data migration initiatives.
• Ability to understand and work with APIs, integrations, file layouts, interface specifications, and data models.
• Experience working in Agile environments using Jira and related SDLC tools.
• Strong ability to analyze complex datasets and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent documentation skills including requirements, user stories, process diagrams, and functional specifications.
• Experience leveraging AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies to enhance analysis, documentation, and requirements gathering.
• Preferred Experience
• Healthcare, insurance, benefits administration, or student health insurance experience.
• Billing, accounting, premium administration, invoicing, or financial systems experience.
• Experience supporting financial reporting, reconciliation processes, payment processing, and financial controls.
• Familiarity with enrollment, eligibility, carrier reporting, and healthcare-related financial workflows.
• Experience conducting financial data validation and reconciliation activities.
