  • Job Title: Technical Analyst IV
  • Duration: 12 months
  • Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid: 2 days in office currently, 4 days in office possibly in the next 2-3 months.)
  • Schedule: M-F, core business hours – 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day

Summary:

  • 1. Identify Applications in scope. Extract information from pre-populated Business requirement documents and analyze to ensure data is accurate
  • 2. Communicate and liaison with the application contact person
  • 3. Onboard clients to the backup platforms
  • 4. Ensure backups follow immutability requirements. Monitor and create report on them
  • 5. Cleanup any backups that are no longer required and ensure capacity is being managed.
  • 6. Create, maintain and update runbooks/dashboard/scorecard related to immutability
  • 7. Deploy corresponding infrastructure as needed.
  • 8. Assist team in other day to day activities.

  • • Strength in researching industry standards, best practices, new innovations in technology and making informed recommendations.
  • • Readiness to serve a technology, trends and processes "go-to" resource.
  • • Ability to work independently in a senior or lead role on a diverse range of tasks and may be relied upon to coach and educate others.
  • • Experience as a subject matter expert and consultant who provides technical guidance and highly complex troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • • Readiness to support highly complex and comprehensive applications, systems and business lines.
  • • Adeptness at identifying root causes and can implement targeted and controlled remediation plans.
  • • Ability to work with stakeholders to install, configure, upgrade, administer business applications and systems.
  • • Ability to review, participate in and implement procedures.

MUST HAVE:

  • 1.) 5+ Years' experience working with Data Domain, NetBackup, Commvault, TSM/Spectrum Protect
  • 2.) 5+ years' analyzing business requirements documents and translating them to technical specifications.
  • 3.) 5+ years' experience working in a Data Protection environment for major corporations. Financial Service Industry experiences a plus.
  • 4.) 5+ years' experience in Data Domain infrastructure
  • 5.) 5+ years' experience in Capacity management (creating reports/dashboards etc). ability to understand capacity (licensing and storage) and performance using metrics from the tools and create forecasts. Good data analytics skills to corelate metrics.
  • 6.) Automation and scripting ( operational efficiency ie Ansble Powershell or similar ) 3-4 yrs
  • Soft Skills
  • Negotiating and analytical skills, previously dealing with difficult stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal

  • 1.) Agile experience
  • 2.) Service now exp
  • 3.) Microsoft Excel – pivot tables etc.

Preferred/Ideal Candidate Background:

  • Banking experience within auditing and back-ups
  • Data Domain, Commvault, TSM/Spectrum Protect, emphasis Comvault and Backup over TSM
