Tarde Operations Analyst- Commodities

Our client, a global hedge fund based in Norwalk, CT, is seeking a Commodities Operations Analyst to join their Investment Operations team. This individual will play a key role in supporting the post-trade lifecycle for Oil, Electricity/Power, and Natural Gas products, including futures, options, and commodity swaps. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting commodities trading operations within a hedge fund, investment manager, commodity trading firm, or similar financial services environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform daily trade, position, cash, and P&L reconciliations across Oil, Electricity/Power, and Natural Gas products.
• Support the post-trade lifecycle for commodity futures, options, and swaps, ensuring accurate trade capture, booking, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Investigate and resolve trade breaks, position discrepancies, cash differences, valuation issues, and other operational exceptions.
• Monitor commodity trade lifecycle events, including expirations, option exercises/assignments, futures rolls, swap resets, settlements, cash flows, and contract terminations.
• Reconcile commodity positions and trade economics against brokers, futures commission merchants (FCMs), clearinghouses, and OTC counterparties.
• Support daily processing and reconciliation of exchange-traded and OTC commodity derivatives.
• Work closely with Commodities Trading, Middle Office, Risk, Treasury, Finance, Technology, brokers, and counterparties to resolve operational issues and ensure seamless trade processing.
• Maintain accurate trade, position, contract, counterparty, and reference data to support operational and financial reporting.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of commodities operations, derivatives operations, investment operations, or middle-office experience within a hedge fund, investment manager, commodity trading firm, bank, or similar environment.
• Hands-on experience supporting Oil, Electricity/Power, and/or Natural Gas products.
• Experience supporting commodity futures, options, and swaps and their associated post-trade lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of commodity derivatives operations, including trade capture, confirmations, futures rolls, expirations, option exercises/assignments, swap resets, cash flows, and settlements.
• Experience reconciling commodity trades and positions and resolving trade, cash, position, and valuation breaks with brokers and counterparties.
• Experience with Advent Geneva, or a similar investment management, accounting, or trade-processing platform.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive operational workflows.
