MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience as a Business Analyst (3+ years) - Please note, candidates must have both BA and QA experience
- Experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst (3+ years) - Please note, candidates must have both BA and QA experience
- Azure DevOps Knowledge – or similar tool like JIRA (comfortable with creating epics/features/user stories for projects as well as moving cards through project lifecycle) (3+years)
- Understanding of BA, QA, DEV roles/responsibilities
- Experienced with as-is/to-be processes and content creation (3+ years)
- Experience with creating product roadmap (3+ years)
- Familiarity with Project Management Methodologies/Agile (3+ years)
- Adept with using BA tools (e.g., FIGMA, Visio) (3+ years)
- This position functions as part of an Agile team with heavy understanding and usage of the Azure DevOps tool as part of the required skillset. The System Analyst 3 is responsible for gathering, documenting, and testing clear, unambiguous business requirements from the client. Understanding the business requirements thoroughly in order to communicate business needs and system functionality to technical and non-technical stakeholders, project team members, and the user community. The System Analyst serves as the ScrumMaster (heavy usage of Azure DevOps tool) on projects and coordinates with the PMO’s Project Manager for artifacts/documentation needed on State of Michigan projects.
- The System Analyst is responsible for working with the project team and stakeholders to examine existing and future-state business processes, data, and systems. This information is used to guide the gathering of business requirements and executing test cases as they relate to the desired system functionality.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
- Develop process flows, use cases, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams.
- Create test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases based on requirements.
- Execute functional, integration, and regression testing; log and track defects.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with business partners.
- Validate that delivered solutions meet documented requirements and quality standards.
- Collaborate with developers, project managers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Assist with system demonstrations, training materials, and production validation.
- Ensure documentation remains accurate and updated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Duration: 1.5 years with desire for contractor to convert to fulltime with SOMI in 1-2 years. At the time of conversion, candidate must be authorized to work in the US without VISA sponsorship by the State of Michigan
- Position location: Lansing, MI (HYBRID: Resource will be working a hybrid schedule. NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION. Will need to be onsite from day 1, two days a week (required in-person days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Please note, the first month of work will require onsite presence 5 days per week for onboarding
