Position Overview:
The Supply Analyst provides analytical and operational support for Cary oil’s supply function. This role supports day-to-day procurement operations through cost analysis, allocation monitoring, supplier performance tracking, market research, and reporting. This role plays a critical part in supporting active supplier negotiations, cost decisions, and allocation management.
Procurement Execution & Operational Support | Supports day-to-day procurement activities
Support procurement and supply-related activities, including data preparation, reporting, and operational follow-up
Assist with cost position analysis versus OPIS benchmarks to support procurement recommendations
Monitor allocation utilization and flag under-lift or over-lift exposure
Maintain procurement tracking tools, logs, and dashboards to ensure accuracy and visibility
Support preparation of materials for supplier discussions and internal decision-making
Analytics, Cost & Market Insight| Provides data-driven support for decisions
Analyze market indexes, basis movements, and cost drivers impacting procurement decisions
Research market conditions, competitive activity, and supplier dynamics
Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports to support procurement and supply planning
Identify trends, risks, and variances requiring attention or escalation
Allocation Management & Load Issue Resolution | Supports sales execution, contract compliance, and profitability
Monitor available allocations within supplier portals to preserve gallons for contract customers while maximizing contract utilization
Actively manage under-lift and over-lift exposure to support contract compliance and profitability
Support internal teams by troubleshooting loading issues and no-load notifications that impact customer service and sales execution
Investigate and resolve loading issues by reviewing supplier system settings, allocation tabs, and error flags
Coordinate directly with suppliers to resolve access constraints, including requesting additional gallons or GPOS approvals as needed
Provide timely communication and escalation on supply access issues that could impact sales growth, fulfillment, or customer commitments
Serve as a critical execution support function within procurement to ensure supply availability aligns with commercial commitments
Supplier Performance & Data Management | Supports supplier evaluation and accountability
Track supplier performance metrics and assist with scorecard preparation
Support RFP data preparation, supplier comparisons, and evaluation analysis
Assist in organizing supplier data, contracts, and performance documentation
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across procurement reporting
Cross-Functional Collaboration | Supports alignment across supply and pricing
Coordinate with the pricing team to support supply planning and execution
Work cross-functionally with Operations and engage suppliers as needed to resolve allocation and loading constraints impacting supply execution
Prepare reports and data packages for weekly supply and procurement meetings
Communicate insights, issues, and updates clearly to internal stakeholders
Support alignment between procurement, supply, pricing, and operations teams
Support RFP processes, supplier evaluations, and contract execution
Process, Tools & Continuous Improvement | Builds operational discipline
Support consistent use of procurement tools, templates, and dashboards
Assist with documentation and refinement of procurement processes
Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data quality, and workflows
Contribute to building scalable, repeatable procurement and supply practices
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, finance, or a related field is preferred
Experience
0-3 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, commodities, analytics, or a related role
Exposure to data analysis, reporting, or operational support
Fuel industry experience is a plus but not required; willingness and ability to learn is essential
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail
Proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
Ability to organize, analyze, and communicate data clearly
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams
Comfortable working in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment
Demonstrates accountability, curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset
