Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Supply Chain Analyst to manage supplier relationships, inventory levels, and purchase order performance within a manufacturing environment. This individual will oversee approximately 15-20 suppliers, ensuring material availability to support operations while driving supplier accountability and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Supply Chain Analyst will monitor open purchase orders, investigate shortages and delays, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to prevent future disruptions. This role requires strong analytical skills, supplier management experience, and the ability to work cross-functionally across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage 15-20 supplier accounts and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor purchase order activity, shipment schedules, and inventory levels.
- Review supplier open-order reports and proactively address delivery concerns.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding order statuses, shortages, and delivery issues.
- Conduct 5 Why (5Y) and/or 8D investigations to identify root causes of material shortages and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Partner with operations, planning, purchasing, and other cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
- Analyze supply chain performance and recommend process improvements.
- Support strategic and tactical supply chain projects.
- Track and communicate project status and business impacts to management.
- Develop and implement process enhancements across supply chain operations.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects focused on inventory, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.
- Provide backup support for supply chain leadership and team members as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred.
- Experience in supply chain, materials planning, purchasing, inventory control, or supplier management.
- Proven experience conducting root cause investigations using 5 Why, 8D, or similar methodologies.
- Experience managing material shortages, supplier recovery plans, and corrective actions.
- Advanced Excel skills, including:
- VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
- HLOOKUP
- Pivot Tables
- Experience utilizing ERP systems in a supply chain or manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Preferred Qualifications
- SAP experience.
- Understanding of Material Master data.
- Experience supporting large inventory operations and high part-count environments.
- Manufacturing industry experience.
- Experience managing supplier performance and logistics-related challenges.
Work Environment
- Casual to business casual workplace.
- Monday through Friday schedule.
- 40-hour work week with a one-hour unpaid lunch.
- Core hours are 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with flexibility outside of core business hours as needed.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a proactive supply chain professional who can independently manage supplier relationships, analyze data, resolve material shortages, and drive continuous improvement efforts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong Excel, ERP, and root cause analysis experience are critical for success in this role.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, MI.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $40.87/hr.
