Strategic Marketing Analytics & Data Science Program Lead – Contract
Blue Chip Talent is seeking an experienced Marketing Analytics / Data Science leader for a high-impact contract opportunity supporting several critical marketing, analytics, and MarTech initiatives. This is not a hands-on Data Scientist, Data Engineer, or Data Architect position. We’re looking for someone who built their foundation in Marketing Analytics or Data Science and has progressed into program leadership, strategy, executive communication, and cross-functional influence. The ideal candidate understands the analytical work well enough to challenge assumptions, identify gaps, and guide teams—but their primary value today is their ability to lead the work rather than personally build the models.
- The Profile We Want
- Your career should demonstrate a progression similar to:
- Marketing Analytics / Data Science → Senior Analytics Leadership → Strategic Program / Enterprise Initiative Leadership
- You may have written SQL, Python, or built models earlier in your career, but today your strength is leading teams and initiatives, influencing stakeholders, setting direction, communicating with executives, and ensuring work gets delivered.
- Approximately 7–8+ years of highly relevant experience can be sufficient. We value the quality, progression, and relevance of your experience more than an arbitrary number of years.
- What You’ll Do
- Lead multiple Marketing Analytics, Data Science, digital marketing, and MarTech initiatives simultaneously
- Own program priorities, milestones, risks, dependencies, timelines, and stakeholder alignment
- Coordinate across Marketing, Analytics, Data Science, IT, business teams, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Work closely with existing team leads and provide leadership through influence, coaching, delegation, and program ownership
- Participate in strategic discussions around analytics, modeling, attribution, segmentation, campaign measurement, and marketing effectiveness
- Review analytical work at a strategic level and identify gaps, risks, or missing considerations
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear business stories and actionable recommendations
- Develop executive presentations, strategic updates, and board-level materials
- Advise senior stakeholders and help teams prioritize competing initiatives
- Help maintain momentum across critical programs in a fast-moving, meeting-heavy environment
- What We’re Looking For
- Program Leadership – Critical
- Proven experience leading complex programs and multiple concurrent workstreams
- Strong program management, prioritization, risk management, and stakeholder management capabilities
- Ability to align teams and drive execution without formal authority
- Comfortable managing significant context switching and competing priorities
- Marketing Analytics / Data Science Background
- Meaningful professional foundation in Marketing Analytics, Data Science, customer analytics, marketing measurement, or a closely related area
- Ability to communicate credibly with Data Scientists and Analysts and understand their methodologies and outputs
- Experience with areas such as attribution, segmentation, predictive analytics, experimentation, campaign measurement, digital marketing, or marketing ROI
- Ability to turn analytical findings into compelling executive-level recommendations
- Strategic & Executive Leadership
- Strong executive presence and senior stakeholder communication skills
- Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and influence
- Experience creating executive presentations and/or board-level decks
- Ability to coach, delegate, supervise, and guide teams without direct reporting relationships
- Strongly Preferred
- MarTech / Marketing Technology program or implementation experience
- Direct-to-consumer, digital, direct marketing, or omnichannel marketing experience
- Previous familiarity with SQL, Python, or R—current hands-on coding is not required
- Experience working with modern analytics environments such as AWS, SageMaker, Databricks, or Power BI
- Financial services, insurance, or another regulated-industry background is helpful but not
- This Is NOT
- ❌ A hands-on Data Scientist role
- ❌ A Data Engineering position
- ❌ A Data Architecture position
- ❌ A coding-heavy position
- ❌ An infrastructure or application development role
- You will not be expected to personally pull data, build models, architect data environments, or serve as the team's primary SQL/Python developer.
- This is an excellent opportunity for a Marketing Analytics or Data Science professional who has moved from doing the analytical work to leading the people, programs, strategy, and business conversations around it.
