2. About the Opportunity:

The Staff Analytics Engineer, Subledger Platform will build and manage the Financial Subledger Data Platform, transforming operational and ledger data into accurate, audit-ready financial outputs. This role involves hands-on development of dbt models and data quality controls, while setting platform standards and mentoring a junior engineer. It requires close collaboration across accounting, financial reporting, and engineering teams to ensure the subledger supports scalable business intelligence, reconciliations, and automation. The position is essential for maintaining reliable financial data infrastructure and enabling the organization’s financial accuracy and compliance.

3. Responsibilities:

  • • Build and maintain dbt models for the financial subledger platform, including naming conventions and reusable patterns
  • • Implement data quality controls such as tests, anomaly detection, and automated reconciliations
  • • Integrate AI-assisted reconciliation features to automate variance analysis and generate reviewable narratives
  • • Own end-to-end subledger data products with full traceability from source events to reporting
  • • Translate accounting and reporting requirements into precise model specifications and durable dbt assets
  • • Manage production operations: monitoring, alerting, incident response, and release processes
  • • Collaborate with upstream engineering to improve source data quality through contracts and change management
  • • Mentor and develop one Analytics Engineer through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance

4. Requirements:

  • • Extensive hands-on experience building and maintaining production dbt projects, including models, tests, macros, and documentation
  • • Strong SQL and data modeling skills, particularly with finance reporting and reconciliation datasets
  • • Experience managing data pipelines in a warehouse environment, preferably Snowflake, with focus on performance and reliability
  • • Proficiency in programming, preferably Python, for data tooling and automation
  • • Deep technical knowledge of Snowflake architecture, security, and operational best practices
  • • Ability to lead complex, ambiguous projects with influence across finance, accounting, and engineering teams
  • • Preferred: understanding of accounting principles like subledgers and journal entries
  • • Preferred: experience designing SOX-compliant controls and generating evidence from data pipelines
  • • Preferred: applying AI or large language models to data quality or reconciliation workflows with governance and human review
  • • Preferred: experience with AWS services related to data platforms

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

  • • USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $215,000 - $265,000
  • • USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $191,000 - $241,000
  • • Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits including fully subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents
  • • Employees typically start at the lower end of the pay range; pay is determined by location, experience, and job-related skills
