Brief Job Description:
The Sr. Tax Analyst
The Senior Tax Analyst will provide support for all aspects of the income tax accounting process. This position will facilitate and participate in driving the continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of the U.S. and non-U.S. income tax provisions and in other areas of direct tax as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Prepares tax provision workpapers and analyses supporting the interim and year-end tax provision processes including finalization of entries into general ledger/reporting system.
- Coordinates with regional tax and accounting personnel on non-U.S. provisions workpapers
- Prepares consolidated workpapers and analyses to deliver to finance/tax management and external auditors.
- Prepares income tax account reconciliations for U.S. entities.
- Work with the regional tax directions to analyze/summarize international income tax accounts
- Prepare consolidated income tax account analyses for interim and year-end tax provision to deliver to finance/tax management and external auditors.
- Collaborate with the Income Tax Compliance team to assist with, summarize, and communicate permanent, deferred, equity, and payable tax amounts
- Assists Tax Managers and Tax Directors on other projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required/ Minimum Qualifications:
- 2-4 years experience (Large corporate tax department or public accounting preferred)
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Advanced degree would be a plus)
- A CPA certificate and/or graduate tax or law degree would be preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures, company structure and legal organization
- Knowledge of federal, multi-state and local income tax laws and regulations
- Advanced skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
- Working knowledge tax provision software (OneSource preferred)
- Experience with HFM financial reporting and ERP General Ledger systems (Oracle preferred).
- Familiarity with tax research software (BNA, CCH).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to walk through analysis and solutions with management and business partners
- Excellent project management skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven ability to identify and drive process improvements
