Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive, highly analytical Senior Lead Data Specialist to serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our enterprise Master Data operations. Operating in a "player/coach" capacity, you will spend approximately 80% of your time executing hands-on data management, SQL analysis, and Item Master remediation, while spending 20% guiding and mentoring a mature, highly tenured team of data specialists.

Stepping into an environment with well-established workflows, you will take ownership of Item Master and Pricing database integrity within our ERP system (Oracle preferred). You will act as the technical and operational anchor for the team-analyzing complex transaction flows, resolving upstream data errors, and serving as the primary escalation point for supplier and division communications.

location: Daytona Beach, Florida

job type: Contract to Perm

salary: $30 - 35 per hour

work hours: 8am to 5pm

education: No Degree Required

Responsibilities

Player/Coach Leadership: Dedicate 80% of time to hands-on data management and 20% to mentoring, leading, and supporting a tenured team of Data Specialists.

Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the ultimate SME for the assigned data domain, quickly learning existing, well-established processes and identifying areas for future evolution.

Item Master Remediation: Lead immediate data quality initiatives focusing on the Item Master, specifically analyzing open transactions and ensuring all transactions are properly closed and reconciled.

Data Integrity & Operations: Manage the continuous maintenance and integrity of the Item Master and Pricing databases within the ERP System.

Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Data Governance to refine standards and policies, and represent the department in stakeholder meetings to ensure alignment with company goals.

SLA Management: Ensure the data group adheres to established service level agreements (SLAs) for data creation and amendment.

Escalation Management: Serve as the first step in the escalation process for complex supplier and Division communications.

Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve systemic issues due to missing or erroneous data, regardless of whether the system provides automated warnings.

Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with Procurement and Accounts Payable for the addition and assignment of new corporate suppliers.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree is preferred, OR 5+ years of relevant equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.

Experience: Proven background in Master Data management, construction operations, or a related field.

Technical Skills

ERP Systems: Knowledgeable in ERP applications (Oracle preferred) specifically for Item Master Data maintenance and pricing databases.

Analytics: Advanced Business Analysis skills with a strong working knowledge of SQL to manipulate, query, and analyze large datasets and open transactions.

Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, complex formulas), as well as Word and PowerPoint.

Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills to identify and resolve systemic issues due to missing or erroneous data.

Communication: Strong written, verbal, and customer service skills to manage cross-functional alignment and handle supplier/division escalations.

Adaptability: Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, navigating change, and seeing the "big picture" business vision.

Equal Opportunity Employer: Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or any other legally protected group status.
