About The Opportunity

Our client, a leading member-owned financial institution, is seeking a Senior Designated Compliance Analyst to join its Corporate Compliance team. This position serves as a trusted advisor and second line of defense (2LOD), providing independent guidance, oversight, and challenge to business units to help ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations.

The Senior Designated Compliance Analyst will focus primarily on consumer protection and lending compliance, while also supporting consumer privacy and data protection obligations. This role partners closely with business teams to identify and mitigate regulatory risk, evaluate controls, interpret regulatory changes, support risk assessments, and strengthen compliance practices across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial services regulatory compliance, strong knowledge of consumer protection regulations, and demonstrated expertise in consumer privacy and data protection requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze applicable federal and state regulations, including Regulation Z, Regulation B, HMDA, ECOA, TILA, RESPA, TISA, Regulation CC, and Regulation E.
  • Provide second-line compliance advisory and oversight related to consumer privacy and data protection requirements, including GLBA, Regulation P, FCRA, CCPA, and CPRA.
  • Advise business teams regarding privacy notices, opt-out and limitation rights, permissible information sharing, and related privacy requirements.
  • Perform independent check-and-challenge activities of first-line controls and processes to identify potential compliance risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide proactive compliance guidance through ongoing advisory services, projects, marketing reviews, and other business initiatives.
  • Analyze new and amended regulations and assess their potential impact on business activities, products, services, and processes.
  • Communicate regulatory changes to impacted business teams and provide second-line oversight through an established regulatory development process.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the development and review of corporate compliance policies.
  • Participate in annual and ongoing compliance risk assessments, including complex and higher-risk areas.
  • Develop compliance training content focused on areas of elevated regulatory risk.
  • Review complex and high-risk member complaints and partner with first-line teams to identify appropriate resolutions and potential compliance implications.
  • Support preparation of compliance reports for senior management and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of business activities, products, processes, and associated regulatory risks.
  • Collaborate with other compliance teams to promote consistency in compliance practices and regulatory interpretation.
  • Participate in regulatory examinations, audits, and other regulatory interactions when assigned.
  • Provide compliance guidance and support for projects and initiatives involving elevated levels of regulatory risk or complexity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in financial services, with experience in one or more of the following:
  • Consumer protection regulatory compliance
  • Consumer or lending compliance
  • Internal audit
  • External audit
  • Financial services operations
  • Compliance program development or evaluation
  • 7+ years of experience with consumer privacy and data protection laws and regulations, including:
  • Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA)
  • Regulation P
  • Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
  • California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
  • California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA)
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business guidance.
  • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to independently assess compliance risks, provide effective challenge, and make recommendations to strengthen controls and processes.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within a second line of defense (2LOD) compliance framework.
  • Experience with a credit union, bank, or other highly regulated financial institution.
  • Experience with consumer lending or financial services products.
  • Experience supporting regulatory examinations, audits, or regulatory interactions.
  • Experience conducting compliance risk assessments and evaluating control effectiveness.
  • Experience developing compliance policies, procedures, training, and reporting.
  • Experience advising business teams on complex regulatory and compliance matters.
