Sr. Business Analyst, Woodlawn, MD
- Must be able to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week. Local candidates only.

We are seeking a Sr. Business Analyst to join our team supporting Social Security Administration in Woodlawn, MD. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex business needs and technical solutions, driving requirements analysis, process optimization, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). You will work directly with stakeholders and cross-functional engineering teams to modernize and streamline critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end business process evaluations to uncover inefficiencies, anticipate future needs, and design optimization strategies.
- Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into formal Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), use cases, process flows, and technical specifications.
- Stay up to date on modern software and IT advancement opportunities to support agency-wide system modernization and automation goals.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Federal stakeholders, business users, and technical implementation teams.
- Plan, facilitate, and lead stakeholder interviews, alignment meetings, and executive presentations to share findings and proposal roadmaps.
- Prioritize project initiatives and backlog items based on business criticalities and agency priorities.
- Design comprehensive test plans, business use cases, and UAT scenarios to ensure delivered solutions align with functional requirements.
- Coordinate and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) alongside agency users, managing feedback loops through resolution.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain an SSA Public Trust clearance is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with a bachelor's degree.
- Previous experience working within Social Security Administration environment or similar federal IT programs.
- Proven expertise writing comprehensive BRDs, business use cases, workflow diagrams, and test scripts.
- Hands-on working knowledge of writing and executing basic-to-intermediate SQL queries for data verification.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of facilitating cross-functional alignment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience presenting to Federal leadership and technical teams.
Desired Qualifications
- Currently possesses SSA Public Trust clearance.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, HP ALM, SharePoint, MS Visio, Advanced MS Excel, and Tableau.
- Advanced skills in database structures, API testing, and backend data analysis.
- Experience leading Agile/Scrum teams, conducting ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Demos, Retrospectives), and managing backlog refinement.
- Familiarity with federal risk management frameworks and mitigation strategies.
