• Position Overview

We are seeking a Software Test Analyst / QA Analyst to support a major application modernization initiative in Lansing, MI. The project focuses on modernizing legacy desktop applications by transitioning them from outdated technologies, including VB6 and .NET 3.5, to a modern web-based platform.

The Test Analyst will support the Quality Assurance (QA) team across all testing activities, work closely with business and technical stakeholders, and ensure that applications meet defined functional, quality, and acceptance requirements. The successful candidate will also facilitate communication with business testing representatives and ensure critical testing issues are appropriately addressed, tracked, and escalated.

The role will also involve preparing QA reports, presentations, meeting minutes, testing documentation, and other project deliverables.

• Required Education
• Bachelor's degree required.

• Required Experience & Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with DevSecOps practices and technologies, preferably within a QA/testing environment.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps, specifically managing test cases and test plans.
• Experience working directly with customers and business stakeholders to develop acceptance criteria supporting existing and new user concepts.
• Strong understanding of software quality assurance and testing methodologies.
• Experience developing, executing, and maintaining test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
• Strong documentation, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

• Preferred Qualifications
• Previous professional experience as a Software Tester, QA Analyst, or Test Analyst.
• Experience working with software testing tools and QA management platforms.
• Experience with web-based application testing is highly preferred.

• Key Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for web-based applications.
• Review business and technical requirements to ensure they are clear, complete, consistent, and testable.
• Work with business stakeholders to define and validate acceptance criteria.
• Identify, document, track, and retest application defects through resolution.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, project managers, vendors, and business teams to resolve testing issues.
• Create and maintain test data and validate application results against established business requirements.
• Participate in requirements reviews, design sessions, project meetings, system walkthroughs, and other QA activities.
• Coordinate testing activities across multiple projects and provide regular testing status, risks, issues, and recommendations to project teams and management.
• Support production validation, application releases, upgrades, and change-management activities.
• Maintain QA documentation, testing evidence, defect logs, test results, and other project documentation in accordance with established standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve QA processes, testing methodologies, tools, and automation.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior QA analysts and other team members as needed.
• Ensure testing activities comply with organizational security, development, documentation, and quality standards.
• Provide ongoing application support, troubleshoot reported issues, and perform other related duties as assigned.
