Role Description The Senior Vice President of Data is a full-time, remote role responsible for defining and leading the overall data strategy for Angel Investor’s venture capital operations and platform. This position oversees the design and implementation of data architectures, governance frameworks, and analytics capabilities that drive investment decisions, portfolio insights, and platform optimization. Day-to-day responsibilities include partnering with executive leadership to align data initiatives with business objectives, managing cross-functional data and technology projects, and establishing standards for data quality, security, and compliance. The Senior Vice President Data will lead and mentor data and IT teams, evaluate new tools and technologies, and collaborate with product, investment, and operations teams to deliver data-driven solutions. This role also involves communicating key data findings to stakeholders, guiding long-term strategic planning, and continuously improving data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Information Technology and IT Management, with experience overseeing complex data and technology environments.
Demonstrated expertise in IT Strategy and Strategic Planning, including developing and executing long-term data roadmaps aligned with business goals.
Proven Project Management skills, with a track record of leading cross-functional initiatives from concept through implementation.
Extensive leadership experience in data, analytics, or technology roles, ideally within venture capital, financial services, or high-growth startups.
Proficiency in modern data platforms, databases, and analytics tools, and familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders and influence executive decision-making.
Experience managing remote teams and collaborating effectively in a distributed work environment.
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
