Actual compensation within the pay range will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.

Purpose/Objective
The Sr. Tax Analyst will have exposure to all aspects of domestic income tax accounting, reporting, compliance, research, and planning in a unique and evolving industry. Participate in the implementation of tax strategies that reduce tax liabilities and minimize exposures. Create efficient and effective tax procedures and workpapers. Monitor compliance with tax laws and regulations and create synergies that reduce external costs.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and year-end income tax provisions. Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and best practices regarding tax workpaper documentation and memoranda including maintaining a tracking spreadsheet for uncertain tax positions (ASC 740-10). Assist with the disclosures for annual report (10K), quarterly report (10Q), and regulatory filings including tax footnotes and schedules. Maintain tax account reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation of tax return workpapers, manage tax return due dates and filings. Prepare and maintain fixed asset roll forwards, review tax depreciation reports, and reconcile book-to-tax differences. Calculate, track and execute estimated tax payments and extensions.
- Compile data and draft initial responses for federal, state, and local tax audits. Respond to and resolve tax notices.
- Assist with the planning, accounting, and reporting of tax credit investments.
- Monitor proposed tax legislation and analyze potential impact to the Company. Identify opportunities for minimizing tax liability and tax risk.
- Ensure compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one’s duties.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other four-year degree with equivalent accounting experience. Master’s degree a plus.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of corporate income tax experience
- Banking industry experience a plus
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various teams and external contacts
- Demonstrated ability for problem-solving and independent work
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational skills
- Detailed oriented with ability to see the big picture
- Process improvement and deadline driven
- Team player able to work in a fast-paced environment
