This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator / Data Platform SME based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to support a mission-critical enterprise analytics platform used for cybersecurity operations and executive decision-making.

The position combines systems administration, data engineering, and analytics expertise to enhance secure, scalable data solutions.

You will play a key role in managing modern data platforms, developing dashboards, and enabling actionable insights for senior stakeholders.

Working across advanced technologies such as Databricks, Qlik Sense, and enterprise data pipelines, you will help drive data modernization initiatives.

The role requires strong technical ownership, attention to security standards, and the ability to collaborate with government and technical teams.

You will contribute to the long-term reliability, governance, and evolution of a high-impact analytics environment supporting national security objectives.

Accountabilities

The Senior Systems Administrator / Data Platform SME will be responsible for managing and enhancing an enterprise data platform, ensuring secure operations, reliable analytics delivery, and continuous improvement. This role requires a balance of technical execution, platform ownership, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration.

  • Administer, optimize, and maintain an enterprise analytics platform supporting cybersecurity reporting and operational insights.
  • Design, develop, and manage secure data ingestion pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and enterprise data models using modern data engineering practices.
  • Configure and support Databricks environments, including PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and enterprise security controls.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain executive dashboards and analytics solutions using Qlik Sense, including scripting, security configuration, and platform administration.
  • Integrate and manage eMASS data through secure API connections while ensuring data quality, validation, governance, and compliance.
  • Implement enterprise data governance practices, metadata management, and standardized reporting frameworks.
  • Develop technical documentation, including system design documents, architecture diagrams, SOPs, user guides, and operational procedures.
  • Provide knowledge transfer, training, and technical guidance to support long-term platform sustainment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, resolve technical challenges, and improve platform performance, security, and usability.

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in enterprise data platforms, systems administration, cybersecurity-focused analytics, and secure government environments. This professional should combine deep technical expertise with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Current DoD 8570/8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification, such as Security+, SSCP, GSEC, CCNA Security, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting enterprise systems within DoD or federal environments.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise data platforms and analytics environments, including Advana or similar solutions.
  • Advanced experience with Databricks, including PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and data governance capabilities.
  • Extensive experience developing and administering Qlik Sense solutions, including dashboards, load scripting, QMC administration, and security management.
  • Experience integrating REST APIs and working with cybersecurity or compliance-related datasets such as eMASS.
  • Expert SQL skills with experience in relational databases, dimensional modeling, and enterprise ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of secure data management, cybersecurity reporting, and enterprise governance practices.
  • Experience creating technical documentation and supporting operational knowledge transfer.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration abilities.
  • Preferred experience supporting Marine Corps or Department of Defense cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and cybersecurity reporting requirements.
  • Experience with Git or other version control tools and enterprise cloud modernization initiatives.
