- Key Responsibilities
- Support the applications and technology used throughout manufacturing operations.
- Partner with production, quality, warehouse, supply chain, and other business groups to understand system needs and resolve issues.
- Analyze business processes and identify opportunities to improve system functionality, reliability, and efficiency.
- Gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional and technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate resolution with internal IT teams and external vendors.
- Manage relationships with third-party application and technology providers, including service-level expectations.
- Participate in system enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and other technology projects.
- Help evaluate existing applications and determine opportunities for system consolidation, optimization, or replacement.
- Support software development and implementation activities using established SDLC practices, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and change controls for systems operating in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Support validation, compliance, and data integrity activities associated with business-critical applications.
- Balance multiple projects, system issues, and operational priorities while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience supporting business applications, manufacturing systems, ERP platforms, or related IT systems.
- Experience working directly with manufacturing or production operations.
- Experience with an ERP or manufacturing management system; Infor XA/MAPICS is strongly preferred.
- Experience with IBM i/AS400, RPG, RPGLE, SQL, or similar technologies is highly desirable.
- Understanding of GMP, GxP, FDA, validation, or other regulated-industry requirements.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with the ability to investigate complex system issues.
- Ability to gather requirements and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with third-party software vendors or application support providers.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
