- Dasro is looking for a SAP Human Resources Functional Analyst (Senior) for one of its clients in Calgary, AB.

- Position Overview
- The Senior SAP Human Resources Functional Analyst will serve as an integration strategist and functional specialist responsible for designing, validating, and governing SAP S/4HANA HR (HCM) processes. Entering the active Design Phase of the SAP Plus transformation program, this role acts as an architectural authority and direct conduit between client's internal HR team and the System Integrator (SI). The successful candidate will ensure end-to-end HR processes are fit-for-standard, scalable, and rigidly aligned with clean-core principles to eliminate unnecessary customization and reduce delivery risk. A core focus of this role is leading the integration redesign—not maintenance—across a complex HR ecosystem, with an immediate, high-priority emphasis on optimizing the connection between S/4HANA and an established, large-scale Workday footprint.
- Key Responsibilities
- Design & Architectural Governance: Design, validate, and govern SAP S/4HANA HR (HCM) core functional processes from day one across pay, compensation, time management, and the full hire-to-retire worker lifecycle.
- Workshop Facilitation: Lead and facilitate fit-to-standard design workshops across HR domains. Document where SAP standard is adopted, justify necessary deviations, and confidently challenge custom development requests with credible standard-path alternatives.
- System Integrator Partnership: Partner directly with the System Integrator (SI) to review, critique, and approve HR functional designs and specifications, ensuring clean-core adherence and preventing overbuild.
- Ecosystem Integration Redesign: Validate, govern, and active-design cross-system integration requirements across TC Energy's HR ecosystem, specifically managing data flows between the S/4HANA core, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, and SAP Fieldglass.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a high-visibility liaison at the middle-to-upper management level across HR, IS, Finance, and broader business areas to manage scope clarity.
- Go-Live Readiness & Testing: Own go-live readiness and day-one operational stability for all HR domains. Define functional test scenarios, validate HR master and transactional data readiness (pay, compensation, time, worker data), and support cutover planning.
- Project Monitoring: Schedule, monitor, and provide transparent reporting on team activities and milestones, ensuring the timely and effective handling of production problems alongside on-time, on-budget project delivery.
- Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, Human Resources, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 8–15 years of experience as an SAP HR/HCM functional specialist, including involvement in at least one major full-lifecycle ERP transformation or implementation program (Greenfield S/4HANA implementation experience preferred).
- Hard Disqualifier (Technical): Must possess deep, hands-on SAP S/4HANA HR or SAP HCM implementation experience; legacy ECC HCM-only backgrounds without S/4HANA exposure will not be considered. Experience must include active implementation or design cycles rather than being limited to post-go-live support.
- Integration Differentiator: Real, hands-on cross-system integration design experience is mandatory. Direct, architectural experience designing or redesigning Workday-to-SAP HCM/S/4HANA integrations is the single highest-priority requirement and differentiator. Hands-on integration design experience between SAP SuccessFactors and the S/4HANA core is also a hard requirement.
- Preferred Strengths: In-depth familiarity with SAP HCM Payroll systems , CWC-related SAP Fieldglass HR integrations , or a background in Energy, Utilities, or complex regulated industries.
- Certifications: Certified in SAP HCM Core, SAP HCM Payroll, Workday HCM Core/Pro, or SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central is highly preferred. ISTQB, PMP, or Agile/Scrum certifications are valued assets.
