  • Role Description This full-time Senior Machine Learning Engineer role at CandLinked is a hybrid position based in Canada, allowing a mix of in-office collaboration and work-from-home flexibility. The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing machine learning models and pipelines to support core product features and data-driven decision-making. The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, conduct rigorous experimentation, and ensure models are robust, performant, and scalable in production environments. Responsibilities include data exploration, feature engineering, model training and evaluation, code reviews, and mentoring other team members on best practices in machine learning and software engineering. The role also includes monitoring deployed models, improving infrastructure and tooling, and contributing to strategic technical decisions that shape CandLinked’s AI capabilities.
  • Qualifications
  • Strong expertise in machine learning and statistical modeling, including experience building and deploying models at production scale.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for ML (such as Python), along with solid software engineering practices (testing, version control, code review).
  • Experience with data processing and analysis, including working with large datasets, feature engineering, and data quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with modern ML frameworks and tools (for example, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or similar), and workflow orchestration or MLOps platforms.
  • Ability to design reliable, scalable systems and collaborate with engineering teams on architecture, performance optimization, and infrastructure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring or leading engineers on ML projects and contributing to technical direction or standards.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working in hybrid environments and comfort collaborating with distributed teams across Canada.
  • Background in applied ML for products or platforms, ideally in domains involving recommendation systems, search, optimization, or predictive analytics.
